Ido Ashkenazi moved all in from the cutoff for 545,000, and Edgar Vares called from the button with AcQd. Ashkenazi turned over AhKd, and he needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board came KcJc2hJd3d, and Vares flopped a gutshot straight draw, but improved no further. Ashkenazi won the pot with two pair, kings and jacks, to double up in chips.

Aaron Kupin claimed he folded pocket deuces in the big blind, which would have won the hand.

Edgar Vares  –  425,000  (7 bb)

It happened when Joe Elpayaa got his stack of roughly 75,000 all in preflop against Mike Newman.

Newman: AhKc
Elpayaa: AcJd

Elpayaa needed some help and the Qs10s10d flop gave him some chop outs to a queen. The 8h turn offered him more outs, but he missed when the 10d bricked the river.

Elpayaa left the tournament emptyhanded while the remaining 80 players are guaranteed $1,824 in prize money.

Sam Soverel

On the turn with the board reading JsJc8h6s, Aram Zobian checked from the small blind and Sam Soverel bet 47,000 from under the gun. Zobian called and the river was the 5h.

Zobian checked again and Soverel moved all in. Zobian snap-called. Soverel showed 8d8s and Zobian grimaced as he flashed the Jd before mucking his hand.

“Do you have me covered?” asked Zobian.

They broke down the stacks and Zobian was the player at risk and was all in on the river for about 150,000. He hit the rail in one of the first hands back from the 60-minute dinner break.

Sam Soverel – 440,000
Aram Zobian – Eliminated
