Event 1: AJ Gambino Trending Up Late

Event 1 Day 1E – $580 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure

Flight E Players Remaining: 81 of 398

AJ Gambino

AJ Gambino, winner of last April’s in-room $1,100 Big Slick, is trending up late in Flight E of the WSOP Circuit opener. Gambino’s enjoying a good run of cards and is currently flirting with 200,000 chips. Meanwhile, previous chip leader Brad Schiller — who claimed 200,000 chips at the 400/800 level — has been eliminated from and will not be making Day 2 for now.

Less than 20 minutes remain in the day and we’ll try to grab a shot of the leader before chips make it in the bags

Event 1: Final Flight Ready

Event 1 Day 1F – $580 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1: 25/50

Saturday evening is here and it’s time for the final flight of the huge WSOP Circuit opening event. The $580 buy-in tournament easily cleared the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool early this afternoon and they will continue to pile money on top through the night.

As with the first five flights, players will sit down to 12,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm with unlimited re-entries options during that time. Due to a quick run in Flight A, play will come to an end this evening with 25:27 remaining in Level 15. Those with chips will put them in a bag for a Day 2 return tomorrow at 1 pm.

The tournament is already a success and tonight’s players will help make it bigger when action kicks off at 6 pm.

  • $500,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 12,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 9
  • Day 1 will end with 25:27 remaining in Level 15 or Tournament Director discretion

Event 1: Field Thinning

Event 1 Day 1E – $580 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 12: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Flight E Players Remaining: 108 of 398

Play is moving along here on Saturday evening as the 398-entry starting field is down to 108 players. If past trends hold true, the event should narrow to about 13 percent — or roughly 50 players — remaining by the time action wraps. Remember, Flight A hit the 12-percent hard stop with 25:27 remaining in Level 15 so all subsequent flights have been matching that duration.

Full chip counts through Flight E will be posted after play concludes.

Event 1: Team Member Jessica Dawley Eliminated by Brad Schiller

Event 1 Day 1E – $580 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Flight E Players Remaining: 144 of 398

Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Jessica Dawley

Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Jessica Dawley recently enjoyed a triple up picking up queens versus Mike Beasley’s pocket fives and another players’ AhJh. A few hands later, thought, she met her fate.

In a three-bet, heads-up pot with Brad Schiller, the flop fell KsTs9c. Schiller plopped a few beige 5,000 chips in the pot and Dawley rechecked her holdings. She moved all-in and Schiller called.

Dawley: AsAc for an overpair
Schiller: Qd9h for a pair of nines and a gutshot

Runout: Jh7h

Schiller hit the unlikely gutter on the turn and Dawley was left busted. She hit the rail while Schiller scooped a pot sending his stack well over 200,000.

Cajelais is poised for a deep run here in the WSOP Circuit opener with the close of registration right around the corner.

2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year David Prociak

Orlando’s David Prociak snagged Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year honors during the 2015/2016 season and his strong play earned him entries in all SHRP Main Events/Championships during the following season. Prociak is back for more during the 2017/2018 season hoping to again capture the run good that sprung him into the SHRP spotlight for good. While today’s Flight E isn’t points eligible in the race, he’s sure to be among the droves of players in the action for next weekend’s $1,675 Main Event.

Event 1: Scott Stewart in Florida Following a Huge Summer Showing

Event 1 Day 1E – $580 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 6: 150/300 with a 25 ante
Flight E Entries: 355 (Total Entries: 1,159)

Scott Stewart

Scott Stewart had a massive summer finishing 13th in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event for better than $500,000. From there, he kept a hot streak going kick starting his Circuit season with a $63,399 score and his fifth gold ring victory in North Carolina.

Stewart has no shortage of success, but his Seminole resume is a bit light. His lone cash here in Hollywood came in April of 2015 when he finished 71st in a multi-flight re-entry. Trending up at the right time, Stewart hopes to leave the Seminole Hard Rock as a six-time Circuit gold ring winner when play wraps October 2. A win here in the opener would reward him handsomely.
