WPT TOC: Calderaro Staying Alive

WPT Tournament of Champions
Level 5: 250/500 with a 75 ante
Players Remaining: 55 of 64

James Calderaro (Venice, FL)
James Calderaro (Venice, FL)

James Calderaro has been riding a short stack for much of the day but has doubled once again to get closer to a starting stack.

This time, it was a battle among WPT Seminole Hard Rock champions when Calderaro mixed it up with Griffin Paul. It was three-ways to the 8h6d2c flop with Yevgeniy Timoshenko coming along but he moved out of the way when all of Calderaro’s chips went in the middle.

Calderaro was at risk but his flopped set 6h6s looked pretty safe against Paul’s bottom pair Ks2s. Paul was less than 0.5% to catch up and was drawing dead after the Jd turn to give Calderaro the double.

Griffin Paul – 65,000 (108 bb)
James Calderaro – 32,000 (51 bb)

von Kriegenbergh goes into the tank and used one of his time chips to get an extra 30 seconds of time to act. With a few seconds left on the second clock, he tosses his hand into the muck.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko – 77,000
Taylor von Kriegenbergh – 60,000
