Event 9: Oscar Santana – 3rd Place ($1,193)

$300 Omaha8B/Stud8B (Re-Entry)
Level 21: 8,000/16,000 Limits

Oscar Santana
Oscar Santana

Oscar Santana was all in preflop on the big blind for 24,000 and both Scott Sharp and Ronald Winkelvoss had him covered. The board ran out Js10s9c2sQc as the two live players checked down the action.

Sharp showed AsKd10h6c and that was enough to top the 4h3h3d2c of Santana, and also the cards of Winkelvoss that were quickly mucked. Santana was eliminated on the hand in third place and he took home $1,193 in prize money.

Event 7: In the Money

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 18: 3,000/6,000/1,000 ante

It took just two hands to put them in the money and it was almost a double bubble knockout.

Daniel Quesada put out a big stack of chips, enough to cover his opponent, after the Th6d4s flop. The pending bubble boy went deep, deep into the tank while another all-in/call was playing out on Table 21 after a Jh8h2h flop.

Quesada’s opponent eventually called with top pair QcTd but was in trouble against KsKc. The turn/river ran clean 6c9d to give Quesada the hand and send the anonymous player out in 91st.

On Table 21, the second all-in called was heading towards a chopped pot with AhKs against AsKd.

Everyone will now earn a piece of the $285,900 prize pool.

Some of those making the money include Billy Pappas, Carter Gill, Timothy Adams, Anna Wroblewski, Stuart Paterson, Angel Vu, Joe Reddick, Nigel Murray, Oleg Vayman, Brian Gelrod, and Dani Dayan.

Event 9: Money Bubble Bursts – David Edgett Out in 5th Place

$300 Omaha8B/Stud8B (Re-Entry)
Level 19: 5,000/10,000 Limits

David Edgett
David Edgett

Edgett was all in during a hand of Omaha 8OB and both Scott Sharp and Ronald Winkelvoss had him covered. Here are all of their cards.

Sharp: Ad7c6c4h
Winkelvoss: Qh9h4d2c
Edgett: JdJh6d2d

Board: Ac7s3h2s8s

Sharp and Winkelvoss split the pot between the high and low hands, and that left Edgett with nothing left in his stack. Edgett busted on the money bubble in fifth place, and every player remaining will take home at least $928.

Event 10 Day 1A: Small Buy-in, Big Prize

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 25/50

Event 10 should be chocked full of action with the smallest buy-in tournament of the series but a nice $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. There are plenty of chances to run up the entrant count or get into the game with eight starting flights over the next three days.

The first flight is about to kick off with players sporting 12,000 starting stacks and 30-minute levels. The flight will play through 14 levels before bagging up and returning on Saturday. Late registration and re-entry is available until the start of Level 7 and we expect the small price will produce a lot of activity.

Cards in the air for Day 1A with another flight kicking off at 7pm.
