With this being the first-ever Triple Stud event, every new entry sets a new record and we have a nice turnout of 48 entries so far. All stud poker, all day long and they seem to be having a great time.
Early entrants include seven-time Hollywood champ David Shmuel, Alexander Orlov, Marty Raschkovan, Donny Rubinstein, and Aimee Martini.
We have a long history of poker and it’s rare that we find something new on the schedule. But it’s happening today. For the first time ever, we are running a Triple Stud trophy event during a major series.
We expect the non-hold’em people to come out and enjoy the game this afternoon.
Kicking off at noon, players sit down to 12,000 in their stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm. A 45-minute dinner break is scheduled at 6 pm and the we find our first-ever Triple Stud champ.

We have a great early turnout for the $400 Seniors 50+ and there’s a steady line of new players joining as we move deeper into the morning and toward the afternoon.
Some of the early entrants include $600 Seniors 50+ Champ Emerson Ward and Jeff Silverstein (who will play two events at the same time when he takes a seat in the Event 12 restart).
The second of three Seniors 50+ tournaments gets underway this morning at 10 am with a $400 buy-in this time around. The first one was great and we expect nothing different this morning into the afternoon.
Seniors will start with 20k deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm. They have a nice, early 45-minute dinner at 4:30 pm and return to find our next Seniors champ

2023 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 9 $400 Deep Stack Pot-Limit Omaha (Re-Entry) $100,000 Guaranteed Entries: 468 Prize Pool: $154,440 April 16-18, 2023
Event 9 Champion Michael Newman
“I’m basically speechless,” said Michael Newman after winning his ninth career trophy here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. “I can’t even believe it.”
From a field of 468 entries, Day 2 of Event #9 ($400 Deep Stack Pot-Limit Omaha) began on Tuesday with 60 players remaining, and when they reached the nine-handed final table, Newman was the short stack with just 13 big blinds.
“I’m really not a PLO specialist,” said Newman, who nonetheless was able to bounce back from that short stack to win the title, his ninth trophy, and $25,178.
The only other player to win nine major trophies here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood is Raminder Singh, who accomplished the feat last November during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open.
When asked about Singh, Newman said, “It’s great to be tied with someone who’s a really good player.”
Here are the nine trophy events that Newman has won here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, in chronological order:
As you can see, that list includes some spectacular victories, including outlasting a field of 4,508 entries to win $183,525 in 2019, and winning the 2017 Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open Championship for $374,240.
“My whole life I’ve just been so competitive at everything I’ve done,” said Newman.
That competitive spirit means Newman is now on the hunt for trophy #10 and sole possession of the career record.
