The turn is the 5c and the big blind checks. The cutoff checks and Pappas moves all in for about 11,000. The big blind folds and the cutoff thinks for about 30 seconds before folding the Qh face-up.

“I had the best hand at that point,” said Pappas as he collects the chips. “I don’t know after one more card.”

Carlo Rodriguez

Play has come to an end for Flight A and we had 51 players advance to Day 2 on Sunday. Martin Ryan looked like he was going to bag up the biggest but fellow top stack Carlo Rodriguez picked up a nice pot not long before the shut it down.

Rodriguez put 370,000 in the bag with Ryan not far behind with 329,000. Full Flight A chip will be posted as soon as they are available.

Event 1 Flight A: Carey Pickus Climbing

$360 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 13: 1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante

Carey Pickus

The Flight A field took their final break of the day and they have less than an hour remaining. They will play out Levels 13 and 14 and those with chips will bag up for a return on Sunday.

There are no huge stacks standing out but Carey Pickus is making a run to the top. She sits with 154,000 and in good shape to make it through. Pickus is on a little heater with two final tables in our Friday Big Stack tournament in the last month and it seems to be continuing.

If she advances to Day 2, she’ll be able to play the H.O.R.S.E. tournament tomorrow after finishing runner-up to Phil Hui in the same event last year.
