Champion Peter Eichhardt with Tournament Director Tony Burns

Swedish poker professional Peter Eichhardt has just won Event 17, the $2,200 Deep Stack Pot Limit Omaha.

On the first day of the two day tournament, “I quadrupled up at the end of registration, I played solid the rest of the way. It went fast, there were 89 entrants and only 35 left when registration closed.”

It wasnt all smooth sailing for the champion however, “I had to fade a flush draw for my life with 20 left against Richard Gayler.. I had 70k and went to 170k at the end of the night, I went from being in danger to having a top five stack.”

Gayler came into Day 2 as the chip leader and parlayed his stack to a fourth place finish worth $13,795.

Scotter Clark who came into the day as the shortest stack made it all the way to third place. After Clark was eliminated by Leif Force he gave him a signed toy dump truck that he would roll his chips into the pot with whenever he was all in.

Shortly after heads up play started the two WSOP Bracelet winners   Eichhardt and Force agreed to a chop with their nearly even stacks. Eichhardt had the slight lead which awarded him the trophy.

“Today went really well for me, I had some really good hands, good spots. I think me and Leif [Force]  were the two best players at the table.”

Force chimed in “That was the only reason I chopped, I wouldnt have chopped with anybody else.” Eichhardt agreed, “He’s very experienced, so am I” This was Force’s fourth final table of the series.

Eichhardt had great things to say about the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “I like playing here at Seminole a lot. We come all the way from Europe, Michael Tureniec and we have good results here. The reason why is the poker is really good here. The atmosphere, the weather is fine, it feels good when you’re not playing you can go to the pool”

“We come here often, the whole package is great. The poker room is nice and Tony Burns is brilliant.”
