Event 17 Flight E: Reaching for the Guarantee

$200 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1:  100/100

The first four flights of Event 17 drew 1,141 to leave the $200 Big Stack only 108 entries short of the $200,000 guarantee and they will get there in Flight E which kicks off at the top of the hour.

Players sit down to 20K deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 7 at 6:30 pm. Their day will come to an end when 10% of the starting field remains and those players will advance to Day 2 tomorrow at 2 pm in the money.

  • $200,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 15,000 in chips
  • Levels last 30 minutes
  • Late registration until start of Level 7 (2:30pm)

$1,100 Deep Stack NLH Shootout (Freeze-Out)
90-Player Cap | Structure
Level 1:  100/100
Entries:  49

Jake Ferro

Action kicked off for the first Shootout we’ve run since 2016 and we have nearly 50 players in the freeze-out in early action. Registration will remain open until 4:15 pm after the first break so plenty of time to hit the 90-player cap.

Those in early action include Loni Hui, Jason Young, Natasha Mercier, Jessica Cai, Eric Piderit, Boris Kravets, and 2021 WPT RRPO Championship runner-up Jake Ferro. Young probably has the best Shootout result of anyone in the event at this point; he won the WSOP $1,500 Shootout in 2008 for his first bracelet.

Cards are back in the air for the $600 Pot Limit Omaha multi-flight tournament with 52 players remaining and all in the money.

Thanks to a quick night in Flight C, blinds rolled back to 1,500/2,500 with a 2,500 ante and the average stack is about 155,000 (62 bb).

Event 20: Bringing Back the Shootout

$1,100 Deep Stack NLH Shootout (Freeze-Out)
90-Player Cap | Structure
Level 1:  100/100

We are bringing back an old-school game this afternoon at 2 pm; the Shootout returns to the Grand Ballroom, the first we’ve run since the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. The tournament has a $1,100 buy-in and 90-player cap so get your seat early.

Players start with 20K deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 5 at 4:15 pm or the cap is reached. The Shootout format means we will have ten tables with nine players each and they continue until one player at the table has all the chips, like a sit-n-go.

Those ten winners will return at noon tomorrow to play the final table. All players at the final table will start with 200,000 in their stack, blinds will roll back to Level 9, and levels increase to 40 minutes.

It should be a fun tournament and we look forward to the return of some “Maverick” style poker.

  • Tournament has a 90-player cap
  • Players begin with 20,000 in chips
  • Day 1 levels last 30 minutes
  • Late registration until start of Level 5 (4:15pm) or until the 90-player cap is reached
  • Players who win their table advance to the final table on Day 2
  • Final table levels will last 40 minutes and roll back to Level 9 at the start

Event 14: Day 2 Field Set

$600 Deep Stack Pot-Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 13:  1,500/2,500 with a 2,500 ante
Players Remaining:  52 of 405

We put together a nice multi-flight Pot Limit Omaha tournament with the new week and the $600 Deep Stack PLO event drew 405 entries over three starting flights to put more than $200,000 in the prize pool.

Of that group, 52 players survived their flight to bag a Day 2 stack and they return this afternoon at 2 pm to begin playing down to a winner.

The stacks are deep, the levels are long, and this will be a battle for the top spot.

Top ten returning stacks:

  1. Pao Lee – 467,000 (187 bb)
  2. Neil Zonenashvili – 413,000 (165 bb)
  3. Gabe Ramos – 340,000 (136 bb)

Event 17 Flight D: Eric Piderit Eliminated by Nashaat Antonious

$200 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$200,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 4:  200/300 with a 300 ante
Flight D Entries:  222

Nashaat Antonious

Event 17 players returned from their first break with 222 entries in the game and set to hit the $200,000 guarantee later this afternoon.

Walking among the field, we found Eric Piderit ready to produce some content. He joked with the table that he would shove from the button if it folded to him, but Nashaat Antonious nixed that with a limp from late position. Piderit checked his cards and moved all in any way, his shove for 6,200.

The blinds folded and Antonious quickly called.

Antonious: KhKc
Piderit: AdTc

Piderit had three aces to double up but at best made a pair of tens on the Td7s5d2h3d board to head out.

“Now I can play the Shootout,” Piderit said.

Nashaat Antonious – 26,200 (87 bb)
Eric Piderit – Eliminated
