Event 1 Flight B: More Deep Stacks

It’s already been a fun day in the Event Center, and we will add more with Flight B of RRPO Event 1 at 5 pm. The huge opener is a $400 Deep Stack with a $2,000,000 guarantee and a huge turnout is expected.

Flight A already set the pace with 736 entries, the biggest opening flight in our history, and tonight might go bigger.

Players start with 20, 000 in their stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2 and 90 after Level 24. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 9:30 pm and players may re-enter as often as needed during that time.

Flight B will play down to the last 10% of the field and survivors will return for Day 2 on Sunday at 1 pm in the money.

Level 8 is winding down, time is running out if you want in this huge opening Flight of RRPO Event 1. We’ve already set the first record of the series; this is already our biggest opening flight and we’re on pace for the biggest tournament field in state history.

Event 3: Day One Big O

The 2023 RRPO schedule is packed solid with non-hold’em games and we’re wasting no time getting one going on the first day of the series. Starting at 2 pm, Event 3 is a Deep Stack Big O tournament with a $600 buy-in and one-day structure.

Players start with 20K stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 6:30 pm. From there, they continue playing down until they reach the final table and eventual RRPO champ later this evening.

Flight A hit another milestone with more than 600 entries this afternoon to put us 10% of the way toward the $2,000,000 guarantee with much bigger flights in the future as we approach the weekend.

Some more familiar faces include Jeff Kessler, Barry Roth, Yi Li, Jason Young, Ken Bruno, Richard Leger, Willie Wiggins, and Max Romano.

In a fun little twist, Jeff Kessler won the RRPO Seniors Event ten years ago but is opting to play the Deep Stack today instead. We have another Seniors tournament later in the series; he can always go for his second in that one.

Flight A of Event 1 is blasting off in the Event Center, but the $600 Seniors Event is holding its own in the front corner. They are nearing 150 entries before the first break, and they will be playing for a big prize pool.

The first break ended and players returned to their seats for more action. The entry count topped 500 while they were gone and registration remains open until 2:30 pm.

Ronald Higgins Jr is the early leader in Event 1 and the only player over 100K with his 105,900. There are plenty sniffing the top of the leaderboard but there’s time to get there.
