Ali Imsirovic
When heads-up play began, the trophy was placed on the table, and Ali Imsirovic placed it next to his chip stack and cradled it in his arms, saying, “I need to channel this trophy.”

Ali Imsirovic and Bryn Kenney got it all in preflop in a cooler situation.

Imsirovic was all in for 3,075,000 with QhQd, and he needed it to hold to stay alive against Kenney’s 8h8d.

The board came 5s4s2h4h3h, and the pocket queens held up for Imsirovic to win the pot and double up in chips.

Ali Imsirovic  –  6,180,000  (206 bb)
Bryn Kenney  –  4,020,000  (134 bb)

The board came AhAd3d7dAs, and Kenney won the pot with his jack to eliminate Wigg in third place.

Anton Wigg  –  Eliminated in 3rd Place  ($314,925)

Here are the approximate chip counts for the start of heads-up play:

Action folded to Nicholas Davidson in the cutoff and he moved all in for 2,125,000. Willie Wiggins came along from the small blind and Davidson was the player at risk.

Davidson: As7c
Wiggins: AhKs

Davidson needed a lot of help to stick around the Championship, missed the 9c8s3c flop but paired the 7h turn to take the lead. The board finished with the 8c river for Davidson’s double.

Nicholas Davidson – 4,900,000 (39 bb)
Willie Wiggins – 1,600,000 (12 bb)

Vikenty Shegal

Vikenty Shegal got it all in from the big blind for 110,000 with Kc7d, and he needed his hand to hold to stay alive against the Jh9h of Ali Imsirovic, who was under the gun.

The board came AhKd8s9dJc — Shegal flopped a pair of kings, but Imsirovic paired his nine on the turn and his jack on the river to win the pot with two pair, eliminating Shegal in fourth place.

Ali Imsirovic  –  3,300,000  (110 bb)
Vikenty Shegal  –  Eliminated in 4th Place  ($216,670)

Martin Zamani
Martin Zamani

Martin Zamani moved all in from the hijack for 140,000, Ali Imsirovic called from the button, and Bryn Kenney moved all in over the top from the small blind. Imsirovic folded.

Zamani turned over AhJd, and he needed his hand to hold to stay alive against Kenney’s Kc9c.

The board came 7h5c3d6d8d, and Kenney rivered a nine-high straight to win the pot and eliminate Zamani in fifth place.

As he got up to leave, Zamani smiled and said, “Alright, Bryn. Nice interaction. I wish death upon you again.” (Zamani was clearly joking, and it didn’t come off the least bit threatening.)

Bryn Kenney  –  6,900,000  (230 bb)
Martin Zamani  –  Eliminated in 5th Place  ($141,085)

With four players remaining, the average chip stack is about 2,550,000 (85 big blinds), and the remaining players are all guaranteed at least $216,670 each.

Scott Levitt

Scott Levitt open-shoved for 700,000 from under the gun and Jacob Ferro looked him up from the button.

Levitt: Js7s
Ferro: 3s3c

Levitt had two live suited cards for a chance to double up. But he missed the Qc9c2c9d8d board to go out in 13th place. A rough day for our Poker Room regular, one where nothing went right since Day 4 kicked off.

Jacob Ferro – 13,200,000 (105 bb)
Scott Levitt – Eliminated in 13th Place ($48,900)

Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

With the final board showing 6c3s2dAh4c, Bryn Kenney bet 365,000 from the small blind, and Anton Wigg fairly quickly called from the big blind.

Kenney showed 10c5c to win the pot with a rivered six-high straight, and Wigg mucked.

Bryn Kenney  –  3,755,000  (125 bb)
Anton Wigg  –  295,000  (10 bb)

A few minutes later, Bryn Kenney raised under the gun to 70,000, Martin Zamani reraised from the button to 380,000, and Kenney asked for a rough count of Zamani’s stack. Zamani carefully broke down his chips to make them easy to count (it’s a little less than 2.5 million), but he suggested that somebody else would do a better job of counting his chips. Kenney verbally assessed it as about 2.5 million, and he called the three-bet.

Both players checked to the turn on a board of Jh4d3hJc, Kenney bet 465,000, and Zamani called.

The river card was the 7d, and Kenney bet 1,585,000. Zamani went into the tank with about 1,800,000 in his stack.

“I knew this was coming,” said Zamani, “and I still wasn’t ready for it.” Zamani added that he’s bad at ICM calculations, and then said, “I assume everyone’s rooting for me to put it in.”

Zamani assessed his own chip stack and perked up when he realized he wouldn’t be all in if he called.

“Wait? I’ll still have chips? This is exciting!”

Zamani switched gears at that point and started assessing the hand out loud.

“What could you really have here?” asked Zamani. “You definitely don’t have kings. You could have aces. You could have quads. There is also a big fuck-you factor between us.”

Zamani looked at Kenney and said, “You talked so much before when you had it, and now you’re quiet. I want to make a good fold for once, but I can’t imagine it would be a good fold.”

Zamani eventually called, and Kenney showed KdJd for trip jacks. Zamani mucked, and Kenney won the pot.

Zamani said, “That was part of the fuck-you factor. He could have a bunch of jacks.”

Bryn Kenney  –  6,325,000  (211 bb)
Martin Zamani  –  210,000  (7 bb)

With five players remaining, the average chip stack is about 2,040,000 (68 big blinds), and the remaining players are all guaranteed at least $141,085 each.

Players Remaining:  13 of 1,566

Jakob Miegel opened to 275,000 from under the gun and Joseph Cheong called from the cutoff. Anshul Rai ripped it in for 1,200,000 from the big blind to get a fold from Miegel and call from Cheong.

Rai: AhJh
Cheong: 9c9s

Rai needed to improve to double and popped the AdAs6h flop for trip aces. The 8s turn and Qh river locked up his double.

Anshul Rai – 2,875,000 (23 bb)
Joseph Cheong – 3,675,000 (29 bb)
