Scott Wright was short stacked after the big three-way pot and moved all in for 69,000 after Ari Engel opened to 26,000 from early position. Chris Orme called the shove and Engel released his hand after brief consideration.

Amir Tawfik was under the gun and Dan Colman was on his direct left. It went check, bet, call on a 7d5c5d flop. The turn was the Ts and Tawfik checked again. Colman slid forward a stack of 100,000 leaving himself 193,000 behind. Tawfik shoved having Colman covered. Colman thought for a minute and called.

Colman’s hand held and he doubled through Tawfik. Tawfik was left with just about 10 big blinds and busted 31st soon after.

There was a lot of noise coming from Table 79 all of a sudden as Julian Gallo put all his chips in the middle against Scott Wright and Faraz Jaka came along for the ride. It was three-ways with Gallo the shortest, Jaka in the middle, and Wright looking for a double knockout with the best hand.

Wright was in great shape but went from first to third on the AsJc9d flop. Gallo celebrated the jack in the window but settled a bit when the Ac turn gave him a sweat. The 8c river was safe and allowed Gallo to celebrate once again.

Gallo was all in for 169,000 and earned the triple up, Faraz had 71,000 remaining after paying off Gallo and he pulled that much from Wright, who was left with 100,000.

Across the hall from the Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open Championship is the one-day, $5,000 buy-in $200,000 guarantee. The tournament is off to a good start with nearly 19 entries in the game early in Level 2. That puts the event about halfway way its to hefty guarantee and its expected to surpass it’s six-figure target as a number of the Championship bustouts are likely to take their fresh paydays across the way and try to parlay them into another deep run.

We’ll take a closer look at this field a bit later.

The Championship is down to a few remaining players but we have something for anyone around who wants to earn some big money in a one-day tournament, also be the biggest buy-in tournament of the series.

Event 13 is a $5,000 buy-in one-day trophy tournament featuring a big $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. It will draw some of the best players around and they will compete for a lot of money.

Players start with 15,000 in chips and levels with last 30-minutes long until they reach the final table. The levels will then increase to 40 minutes before reverting back to 30 minutes when the tournament gets heads up. Late registration is available until the start of Level 12 at 6:40pm after the dinner break.

Once registration is closed, they will continue playing down until we have our $5,000 RRPO champion.

The Championship is down to 34 players of 585 entries and no soft spots remain. There are plenty of heroes remaining including former SHRPO Champ Dan Colman, high roller master Tom Marchese, 2015 WSOP Main Event champ Joe McKeehen, eight-time WSOP Circuit winner Ari Engel, and three SHRP team members.

Faraz Jaka, Darryl Fish, and Sheddy Siddiqui are still around for the title along with Jake Bazeley and Victor Figueroa, two former RRPO champs.

The Championship will switch up to 90-minute levels and they are scheduled to play down to the last two tables before calling it a day.

The series end is near which means it’s time for one of the more popular tournaments on the schedule. The multi-day, low buy-in, big prize event to close out the series is a lot of fun for our regulars.

Event 12 has a $150 buy-in with a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and six starting flights over the next two days. Three will run today another three tomorrow. Flight A kicks off at 11am and will set the pace for the tournament.

Players sit down to 10,000 starting stacks and 30-minute levels. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 7 at 2:20pm. If players fall short after registration closes, the next flight flies at 3pm. They are scheduled to play 14 full levels or 10% of the starting field and survivors will bag up for Day 2 on Wednesday.
