Timothy Banks arrived to the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Sunday among Day 3 of the Championship field. Although he began toward the bottom of the counts, he jumped up the pay ladder a few steps before busting 68th for $7,791. With a fresh score in his pocket, he entered the day’s noon $350 tournament — Event 21, no limit hold’em re-entry. Banks made the most of late registering, ultimately earning the tournament’s top prize following a four-way chop.

The Charlottetown, PE resident bested a field of 227 entries and took home the lion’s share of the prize pool, a $14,522 score. Others involved in the chop included Pavel Kuzmin (2nd, $13,992), David Battaglia (3rd, $7,033) and Kenneth Bruno (4th, $6,471). Those busting prior to the chop included Ryan Eriquezzo (6th, $3,405), Paul Balzano (7th, $2,724).

Banks is a 62-year-old CEO. His Event 21 score slightly edged his previous career best of $14,192 which came in a $150 event at the Lucky Hearts Poker Open. He now owns 17 career cashes totaling nearly $60,000.
