Event 1: Back From Break

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 400/800/100 ante

The pace of play for 1C has been different than its predecessors with still 225 remaining from the starting 376 after eight levels. Angel Vu will have to try her hand at 1D after losing her second bullet in quick fashion.

The players have returned from their second break of the day and we are starting to see some move to the front.

Event 2: Wayne Brown Quartered but Survives

$250 Omaha 8B
Level 22: 6,000/12,000

Wayne Brown was the shortest of the four remaining and took a shot when it folded to him in the small blind. His raise was met by a third bet from Avi Levy and Brown capped it pre-flop with just one big bet behind.

Brown was all-in after the 9c7d4d flop and tabled AdKsKc2c but was in trouble against Levi’s AhAc9d2d. The 9s turn was no help and they both hit a low on the 8s. Brown survived but only picked up a quarter of the pot.

Event 2: Brent Keane Eliminated in Fifth Place ($1,117)

$250 Omaha 8B
Level 22: 6,000/12,000

Levy then flipped over Ad6c4h4d and Keane showed AcKdJh10h. Binns folded so Levy won the entire pot. Keane was eliminated in fifth place and he will take home $1,117 in prize money.

Event 2: George Boyadjian Survives

$250 Omaha 8B
Level 22: 5,000/10,000

George Boyadjian was all in preflop and four players called. The flop fell 7h6h4h and action checked around to John Binns, who bet 20,000. Wayne Brown and Brent Keane folded, but Avi Levy called. The two live players then checked the 8h on the turn and the 7d on the river. All three players then flipped over their cards.

Levy: Jh10h10c9c
Binns: AsJcJd2d
Boyadjian: Ac2c4s5d

Levy took the hi pot, while Binns and Boyadjian split the low pot. Although he was quartered in the hand, Boyadjian is still alive at the final table.

Event 1: Registration Closed

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 250/500/50 ante

Registration has come to a close for Day 1C and 376 players registered for their shot. The number brings the total so far for Event 1 to 1,172 and those remaining are trying to join the 116 to make it through the first two flights.

Angel Vu is one those still in the tournament but only barely. She was sitting with a short stack as Level 6 was coming to an end and opted to shove instead of surrendering her stack. Vu was unable to double back to a starting stack and quickly hit the registration desk to become one of the last to buy-in to 1C.

There are still three more chances to earn a part of the $500,000 guaranteed prizepool with the next one coming at 7pm for 1D.

Event 1: Massaged Out the Door

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 6: 200/400/50 ante

One of the great benefit of playing in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open is the constant availability of table-side massage therapy while in action. Many players take advantage of the option to relax during the long grind.

Table 38 might change their tune for a few levels. Two players were enjoying the service but the added person in their corner didn’t keep them from early exits. Both were gone in near back-to-back hands and had to walk away to settle up payment with the therapist while the rest of the table had a laugh.

They have moved into the final level of late registration/re-entry with 370 entrants showing on the clock.
