Ian O’Hara

The last big tournament before the SHRPO Championship was a $2,200 buy-in tournament with the final table played out on the Poker Night in America live stream. Ian O’Hara began play near the bottom of the counts but quickly rose up the ranks to win his first career Hollywood title along with more than $100,000.

The two-day tournament features a $200,000 guarantee and drew 229 entries to more the double that number. They created a prize pool worth $458,000 and the last 30 players were paid. But it was the last seven players who bagged for Day 2 to play the final table.

O’Hara has the fifth biggest stack out of those seven but that did not last long. He built his chip castle while other dropped around him including an early double elimination of Brock Wilson and Elvis Toomas.

Minnesota pro Blake Bohn hung on to finish third after a very cold run of cards and it took only two hands for O’Hara to defeat Johhny Landreth heads-up for the win.

After a ton of success elsewhere, the long-time Hollywood regular earned his first career Hard Rock Poker trophy along with $107,155 and the payout pushed O’Hara’s career total over $4,000,000 in earnings.

Congratulations to Ian and thanks to everyone for great warmup to the Championship.
