After a flop of Ah9d6s, Pasha Golovin moved all in from the big blind for 140,000, and Ronald Collins called from UTG+1 with 6d4d for a pair of sixes.

Golovin turned over Ac2h for a pair of aces, and needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The turn card paired the board with the 6c, the river card was the 4s, and Collins turned trips and rivered a full house to come from behind and win the pot, eliminating Golovin in 135th place.

Ronald Collins  –  2,250,000  (56 bb)
Pasha Golovin  –  Eliminated in 135th Place  ($2,415)

With 134 players remaining from a field of 7,703, the average chip stack is around 1,150,000 (29 big blinds). The field is in the money, with the remaining players guaranteed at least $2,415 each.

Event 1: Alex Torres Triples Up in a Big Pot

$400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 25:  20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 ante
Players Remaining:  135 of 7,703

Alex Torres

Five players limped to see a flop of 10s9h7s, and both blinds checked. The next player bet 80,000 in middle position, Ronald Collins called from middle position, John Gorsuch called from the button, and Alex Torres check-raised all in from the small blind for 540,000.

The big blind folded, and the middle-position player tanked for a while before he moved all in over the top for 835,000.

Collins called, covering both players, and then Gorsuch asked for an exact count. Gorsuch folded, claiming he had queen-jack of hearts (for an open-ended straight draw).

These were the cards for the three all-in players, listed in descending order of chip stacks:

Ronald Collins:  3s2s  (spade flush draw)
Middle-Position Player:  Jc10h  (pair of tens, gutshot straight draw)
Alex Torres:  Jd8d  (jack-high straight)

Torres had flopped a straight, and needed it to hold to stay alive.

The turn card was the 2c, the river card was the Kh, and Torres won the pot with his jack-high straight to more than triple up in chips.

His opponent in middle position won the much smaller side pot with his pair of tens to stay alive with 590,000, though he still took a loss of 285K on the hand.

If Gorsuch had called with his queen-jack suited, he would have rivered a king-high straight to knock out all three players and catapulted to more than 6.2 million in chips.

Alex Torres  –  1,940,000  (49 bb)
John Gorsuch  –  1,965,000  (49 bb)
Ronald Collins  –  1,820,000  (46 bb)

With about 135 players remaining from a field of 7,703, the average chip stack is around 1,140,000 (29 big blinds). The field is in the money, with the remaining players guaranteed at least $2,415 each.

Michael Jagroo

Michael Jagroo raised from the cutoff to 65,000, Skip McDonough moved all in from the small blind for 380,000, and Jagroo thought for a while before he called with Ks10s.

McDonough turned over Ac8c, and needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board came KdJc4sQs9d, and Jagroo paired his king on the flop and rivered a king-high straight to win the pot and eliminate McDonough in 154th place.

Michael Jagroo  –  1,630,000  (54 bb)
Skip McDonough  –  Eliminated in 154th Place  ($2,034)

Event 1: David Albertson Won a Massive Pot Before the Break to Catapult to the Chip Lead

$400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 24:  15,000/30,000 with a 30,000 ante

David Albertson
Chipleader David Albertson

The players returned from break to begin Level 24, with increased blinds of 15,000-30,000 with a 30,000 ante.

With about 185 players remaining from a field of 7,703, the average chip stack is around 835,000 (28 big blinds). The field is in the money, with the remaining players guaranteed at least $1,525 each.

A scan of the field during the break turned up four players with at least two million in chips, creating an unofficial leaderboard:

1.  David Albertson  –  3,845,000  (128 bb)
2.  Rafaello Locatelli  –  2,795,000  (93 bb)
3.  Phillip Theard  –  2,345,000  (78 bb)
4.  Ronald Collins  –  2,275,000  (76 bb)

David Albertson won a huge pot right before the break, where he raised big preflop to 150,000. His opponent didn’t see the raise, and only called 25K, thinking nobody had raised the big blind.

He was given a fairly standard ruling with two options — he could fold and forfeit his 25,000 into the pot, or he could call the full amount of the raise. He chose to call.

The flop came Ax4x2x, and the player who had mistakenly called moved all in with a sizable stack worth well over a million in chips.

Albertson called with AdKd for top pair, top kicker, and his opponent turned over Ax5x — pair of aces with a lower kicker, and a gutshot straight draw. Albertson had his opponent covered.

The turn card paired the board with another 2x, and the river card was a Qx. Albertson won the huge pot with his king kicker to eliminate his opponent and catapult to a sizable chip lead at the break.

David Albertson  –  3,845,000  (128 bb)

Event 1: Alex Kimpel Cracks Kings to Double Up

$400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 23:  15,000/25,000 with a 25,000 ante
Players Remaining:  216 of 7,703

Alex Kimpel

Alex Kimpel (yesterday’s Flight G chip leader) moved all in from early position for 375,000, and the player in the cutoff called with KsKc.

Kimpel turned over Kh10h, and needed to improve to stay alive.

The board came Kd9h3h2dQh — the cutoff flopped a set of kings, but Kimpel rivered a heart flush to win the pot and double up in chips.

Alex Kimpel  –  815,000  (33 bb)

With about 216 players remaining from a field of 7,703, the average chip stack is around 715,000 (29 big blinds). The field is in the money, with the remaining players guaranteed at least $1,525 each.

Event 1: Pasha Golovin Rivers a Flush Against Nigel Murray’s Straight to Quadruple His Stack

$400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Pasha Golovin
Pasha Golovin

Nigel Murray raised from UTG+1, and Pasha Golovin moved all in from the cutoff for 80,000. The player in the big blind called, as did Murray, and any further betting would create a side pot.

Both players checked to the river on a board of Kc5h3hQdJh, the big blind checked, Murray bet 50,000, and the big blind folded.

Murray showed As10h for a rivered ace-high straight, but Golovin turned over 9h8h for a rivered nine-high flush to win the pot and nearly quadruple his chip stack.

Pasha Golovin  –  315,000  (13 bb)
Nigel Murray  –  850,000  (34 bb)

With about 250 players remaining from a field of 7,703, the average chip stack is around 615,000 (25 big blinds). The field is in the money, with the remaining players guaranteed at least $1,462 each.

Players Remaining:  290 of 7,703

A player raised from middle position to 20,000, Kevin McCormick moved all in from the cutoff for 175,000, and his opponent tanked for a long time before he called with 6s6d.

McCormick turned over AsQd, and needed to improve to stay alive.

The board came QhJh3c9sKs, and McCormick paired his queen on the flop to win the pot and double up in chips.
