$5,250 SHRPO Championship
$3 Million Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 13: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 153 of 887

Blake Bohn

Action folded to chip leader Jae Hwang in the cutoff and he raised to 8,000. Blake Bohn, who currently sits second on Minnesota’s all-time poker money list, then three-bet all in for roughly 65,000 from the button. Both blinds hurriedly folded and Hwang snap-called.

Bohn: 9s8s
Hwang: AhAs

Bohn got a little help on the 9c3s2h flop, but he needed even more to crack Hwang’s aces. Given the title of this post, you know that didn’t happen as the 7c bricked on the turn followed by the Ks on the river.

Jae Hwang – 540,000 (180 bb)
Blake Bohn – Eliminated

Championship: AJ Kelsall More Than Doubles While Marvin Rettenmaier Falls

$5,250 SHRPO Championship
$3 Million Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 13: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 153 of 887

Marvin Rettenmaier

A short-stacked Marvin Rettenmaier moved all in for 17,000 from early position and the player to his direct left called. AJ Kelsall then came along from the big blind and the flop came down 9s10d5d.

Both active players checked and the dealer burned and turned the 8d. Kelsall led out for 18,000, his opponent called, and the 8s paired the board on the river.

Kelsall returned to checking but snap-called off for 41,500 after his opponent moved all in. Kelsall tabled the QdJd for a straight, which bested the KdJs of Rettenmaier and Kh10h of the opponent who had him covered.

AJ Kelsall – 170,000 (57 bb)
Marvin Rettenmaier – Eliminated

Sunny Patel

After Matt Berkey raised to 7,500, Hiren “Sunny” Patel three-bet to 23,000 from the hijack. The player in the cutoff then four-bet to 105,000, and Berkey got out of the way. Patel responded by moving all in and his opponent called off the 25,000 or so he had behind.

Patel: QhQd
Cutoff: AsAc

Patel was behind, but not after the 8d3sQc flop delivered him a set. Neither the Ks turn nor Kh river influenced the hand and Patel scored the knockout.

Sunny Patel – 300,000 (100 bb)

Championship: Brendon Rubie Takes One Down

$5,250 SHRPO Championship
$3 Million Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 13: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante

Brendon Rubie

Brendon Rubie raised to 7,000 preflop on the hijack, and the button and Jonathan Little (big blind) called. All three players checked the flop dealt 5d4s3d, and the Qs followed on the turn.

Rubie bet 16,000, the button called, and Little folded. The river delivered the 7h, and Rubie bet 33,000. The button tanked before calling, but he folded when Rubie showed Ad2s. Rubie won the hand to grow his stack to 209,000.

Brendon Rubie – 209,000 (69 bb)
Jonathan Little – 230,000 (76 bb)

Matt Salsberg

Three players were involved in a growing pot on a 7s5c4s flop. A player in the blinds checked to Salsberg, who bet 500. The player behind him called, the other folded, and it was heads-up to the turn.

It was the 7c. Salsberg bet another 3,100, and his opponent called.

The river was the 3s, and both players checked.

Salsberg showed Qs5s, winning the pot with a queen-high flush. His opponent flashed either 6d8d or 7d8d as he mucked, and he was relieved of the rest of his short stack one hand later by another player.

Salsberg has apparently been doing some good work early, sitting with well over twice the starting stack just an hour in.

Matt Salsberg – 53,000

$3 Million Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 13: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 189 of 887

Austin Peck

After David Sands raised to 6,500 from early position, Austin Peck called to his direct left. The player on the button came along, as did Andy Philachack in the small blind, and then Chris “Big Huni” Hunichen three-bet all in for 75,500 from the big.

Sands folded, Peck moved all in over the top for 125,000, and the other two players folded.

Peck: 10s10c
Hunichen: KhQs

Hunichen was at risk and looking to hit one of his overs. Unfortunately for him, no paint splashed as the board ran out Ah5s6cAd5c.

Austin Peck – 225,000 (75 bb)
Chris Hunichen – Eliminated
