The flop was , Shak shoved for 740,000 and Mercier mulled it over for about 15 seconds before he called.
Shak slammed the table when he saw the situation.
“Ace-jack?” asked Shak.
“Wanted to see the flop,” said Mercier.
The turn and river completed the board, no help to Shak, ending his tournament on the money bubble.
That pot gives Mercier more than half of the chips in play, as Shak was second in chips when play resumed. With that, Day 1 action has concluded.
Jason Mercier – 2,635,000 (132 bb)
Dan Shak – Eliminated on the Money Bubble
A recap of the day will be posted later tonight.
