Sebastian Ruiz decided it was time to take a stand and moved all-in over the top of a Jared Jaffee open. Ruiz was in trouble with against Jaffee’s .

He hit part of the flop but it ran out dry to send Ruiz out in 16th place for $18,075.

Sergii Baranov and Brian Altman were butting heads at the end of the last level and start right back up again when they returned.

Baranov called a three-bet by Altman before the flop and Baranov immediately moved all-in. Altman called just as quickly and was ahead with againt Baranov’s flush draw, over-card .

The turn and river were drama-free for Altman and Baranov was gone in 17th place for $18,075. Altman moved up to 7,100,000 and Bruce Kramer was moved to balance the tables.

Staff announced a 15-minute break at the end of the level but things took a little longer to get moving. Both tables had hands that extended well into the break, long enough to cause them to pause the break time clock.

Brian Altman and Sergii Baranov were battling down to the river when Baranov bet 600,000 with the board reading . Altman raised to 1,700,000 and Baranov went into hibernation, six minutes later he mucked his cards.

The break clock was restarted and they are back underway.

Aleksandr Denisov and Sanjay Gehi were two of the shorter stacks and Gehi was moving them in early. They finally matched up with Denisov the one at risk with against Gehi’s .

The board ran out to give Gehi the pot and send Denisov out in 18th for $18,075.

Kelly Minkin took an aggressive approach against Brian Altman and it paid off. She three-bet from the button after Altman opened to 65,000 and they both saw the flop. Altman check-called a 125,000 bet and followed with a check-call of 210,000 after the turn.

The river slowed them both down and Altman confidently rolled over before Minkin tabled for the win to move her over 2,500,000.

Sanjay Gehi continues to put his short stack at risk without callers. He’s three-bet shoved twice more since his first hand move but no-one has looked him up to this point.

The expected slow grind is upon us with 18 players realizing how close they are to a huge payday. Sanjay Gehi did get frisky on the first hand of play when he moved all-in over a Sergii Baranov open in a blind versus blind battle. Nothing became of it and they moved along.

It was a quick pace on Day 3 of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship, setting up a potentially long day for the remaining players.

It took less than seven hours of play to drop the field from 78 to 18 players. There were still 45 minutes left in the fifth level of the day when they paused the clock and bagged up their chips.

Mark Dube leads the way once again with Brian Altman not that far behind. Jared Jaffee and Justin Zaki are the two biggest named players remaining and it is anyone’s game at this point with the average stack near 60 big blinds.

They are scheduled to continue play until six players remain and they’ll return tomorrow to play on the WPT livestream.
