While we were catching up activity around the ballroom, things steamed right along in Event 6 and we are down to only 55 players remaining.

Two Seminole Hard Rock Poker team members are still around with Jessica Dawley taking a seat at the live streamed feature table while Michael Laake is grinding away in the ballroom with 360,000.

It was a longer process than normal with several hands going the distance over time. It took four hands to put the field in the money but not before Mike LaRocca found a double up.

After a Qd7c7h flop, Evan Teitelbaum opened to 32,000 and that was followed up by a raise to 64,000 by another opponent. LaRocca responded with a shove for 126,000, Teitelbaum released, and the other opponent called. LaRocca was looking good with Jd7d against QsJh and dodge the turn/river to double.

Two hands later, Marcus Stein called an all-in for 41,000 and sat back to wait while the rest of the tables finished their action. Once they tabled the cards, Stein saw he was racing with AhKh against 7h7s and he hit the AcTc6s flop. The 9s turn changed nothing and they were in the money after the Ad river.

Event 6: Back From Break Near Bubble

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 18: 3,000/6,000 with 1,000 Ante
Players Remaining: 87 of 807

Event 6 players are back from their first break of the day only six eliminations away from making the money.

There’s a slight delay as we move Table 8 over to the Poker Night in America live stream table featuring Abbey Daniels, Daren Stabinski, Sean Shah, Jason Bral, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah.

Event 6: David Diaz Eliminates Brett Bader

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 17: 2,500/5,000 with 500 Ante
Players Remaining: 93 of 807

David Diaz and Brett Bader were two well-known South Florida grinders sitting at the same table today. Now one remains.

Former SHRP champ Brett Bader began his day with nearly 80,000 but was down to 41,500 when he moved all-in from early position. WSOP bracelet winner David Diaz called on the button to put Bader at risk.

Diaz: AdTd
Bader: 2h2d

They were flipping with Bader in danger and Diaz hit the KhTc4h flop then tripped his tens on the Th turn. That card gave Bader flush outs with his ducks but blanked the 9s river to exit short of the money.

David Diaz – 170,000 (34 bb)
Brett Bader – Eliminated

Event 6: Double Digits Minus Pahuja

Level 17: 2,500/5,000 with 500 Ante
Players Remaining: 99 of 807

The pace slowed slightly but it’s still a coin flip whether they will hit the money bubble before or after the break. Event 6 is down to eleven tables of nine, under 100 first the first time in days.

No longer among them is former WPT Player of the Year and Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Mukul Pahuja.

Event 6: Tables Dropping; Shah Climbing

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 16: 2,000/4,000 with 500 Ante
Players Remaining: 108 of 807

We made an early prediction that the money bubble would arrive after the first break and now might have to amend that thought. Tables continue to drop and they are within shouting distance of the money in less than an hour.

Sean Shah does not seem to be at risk of dropping out any time soon. The SHRP regular began the day with 228,000 but now sits at 420,000 after a level of work. Shah is having a nice year; among other results he recently finish in sixth place in the Coco Poker Open Championship with his biggest score coming this summer thanks to a runner-up finish in the WSOP $565 Pot Limit Omaha event.

Event 6: Two Tables Down; One Tough Table

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 1,500/3,000 with 500 Ante
Players Remaining: 126 of 807

They are speeding right along after the restart and lost two tables within the first 30 minutes. Among the early departed were Elliot Zaydman (at the hands of Jessica Dawley), Brian Phillis, and Zo Karim when he ran into Kings.

Table 8 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and the heavy duty lineup has only gotten tougher. It began with Abbey Daniels, Daren Stabinski, Jason Bral, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah then threw in the addition of Sean Shah after his table broke first.

Good luck Table 8.

Event 6: Back Underway

We are back underway for Day 2 of Event 6. They will play 40-minute levels throughout the day until they reach the final table, then the levels switch to hour-long for the duration.

They will grind through three levels before taking their first break and we expect the money bubble to hit soon after.
