Event 6 Flight C: Guarantee Met

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 13: 1,000/2,000 with 300 Ante
Flight C Players Remaining: 63 of 220

While we were paying attention the High Roller taking place in the middle of the ballroom, the third flight of Event 6 closed registration with 220 entrants. That is enough to put the field over the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool with an entire flight left to run.

They will play down through Level 14 and bag up for a return tomorrow.

Event 6 Flight C: Last Day to Bag

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

Event 1, Nicholas Mahabee
Nicholas Mahabee, 2016 SHRPO Event 1 Champ, leads Event 6 after Flights A and B

We’re heading into the Thanksgiving holiday and we have a few more tournaments left to run before taking a Thursday break. Event 6 is the last multi-day event before the Championship and today is the last day to push a stack forward to Day 2 tomorrow.

The first two flights drew 315 entrants yesterday, well on pace to hit the $250,000 Guarantee, and we expect similar numbers today to get us there. We had 51 players advance to the final day tomorrow and Event 6 is set up for a big last day.

The $570 buy-in will give each entrant a 20,000 starting stack and they will play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30pm and they will begin playing down from there. The flight will end at the completion of Level 14 and those still with chips will move on to Day 2.

We get underway at the top of the hour and we will track their progress.

Event 6 Flight B: Evan Teitelbaum Sets the Bar on Day 1B

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
End of Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 Ante
Players Remaining: 29 of 158

The final few hands are complete at each table, and the 29 survivors have finished their end-of-day paperwork and the bagging of the chips.

Evan Teitelbaum held fast at night’s end, finishing the flight as the big stack with 358,500. That’s good enough for second place overall at the moment, with everyone still trailing Day 1A chip leader Nicholas Mahabee, whose stack of 464,000 is the number to beat right now.

The full list of chip counts from the first two flights can be found one post below this one.

The four aforementioned members of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Team also survived the B flight. Wally Maddah gets the gold star for the day, finishing with 185,000 to lead his teammates Darryll Fish (99,500), Jessica Dawley (78,000), and Michael Laake (77,500).

Others who bagged up chips include Marc Stein (150,000), Marc Levy (129,500), Kenny Nguyen (125,500), Jake Schwartz (62,500), and John Holley (35,000).

They and the other survivors have earned a day off tomorrow, while the final two starting flights will run throughout the day. The prizepool will be released once registration is closed for Day 1D, and the combined Day 2 is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 PM.

Day 1C begins Tuesday at 11 AM.

Event 6 Flight B: Final Four Hands

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 Ante
Players Remaining: 30 of 158

The clock was paused with 10 minutes remaining in the level, and a card was drawn. It was a four, so each table will play that many more hands before the survivors bag up for the night.

The board shows 30 players left right now, so no more than that will advance to Day 2 from this flight.

Event 6 Flight B: Everyone’s Chasing Evan Teitelbaum

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 Ante
Players Remaining: 30 of 158

Evan Teitelbaum
Evan Teitelbaum (Parkland, FL)

Jessica Dawley is still working with one of the bigger stacks in the remaining field, but it pales in comparison to that of her neighbor to her direct left, Evan Teitelbaum.

Teitelbaum is currently sitting with about 365,000 chips, making him the clear leader for this flight. He’s still about 100,000 chips behind Day 1A leader Nicholas Mahabee, but Teitelbaum is at least within striking distance with about half a level of action remaining in the day.

The pro from Parkland, Florida is an accomplished player with nearly $700,000 in career earnings. A significant chunk of that has come in this building, including a big win in the Lucky Hearts Poker Open kickoff event in 2015. That $153,000 score is the largest of his tournament career to date, and he’s put himself in good position to make a run at another Seminole trophy here in Event 7.

Event 6 Flight B: Zoltan Czinkota Spikes a Double

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 13: 1,000/2,000 with a 300 Ante
Players Remaining: 33 of 158

With two limps in front of him, Zoltan Czinkota raised to 7,500 in position. The first limper folded, but the second snuck in a three-bet to 25,000 total.

“Don’t go anywhere,” Czinkota said to the reporter. “This is going to be the hand where I lose it.” With that, he called the remainder to see a flop, committing more than half his remaining stack to do so.

The flop was 5s5h2h, and the limper moved all in. Czinkota snap-called all in for his last 17,900 total, putting himself at risk.

Czinkota: 4c5c
Opponent: AsAd

“Oh, shit,” Czinkota said. “You had a real hand.” The Ks turn and 7d river completed the board with blanks, and he doubled up with trip fives.

Zoltan Czinkota – 93,200 (47 bb)
