Event 17 players took their second break of the day as the slow structure creeps higher. The lack of re-entries slowed up the player count but we’re still seeing players get in the game late.

Pfizer Jordan is your current chip leader with Gordan Vayo, Harrison Gimble, and Cate Hall lurking.

They’ll play two more levels and take a 40-minute dinner break. Registration will remain open until they come back from that break around 6:10pm.

The Event 17 field continues to grow at a steady pace and the prize pool has grown over $175,000 with plenty of time to run it up.

We’ve seen a few new faces pop up since the last break including Adam Levy, Aaron Massey, and SHRP team members Matt Stout and Michael Laake.

The news wasn’t so good for Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah. He was seen walking out the door on the other side of the room and his seat no long has a stack out front. He’s not alone among those gone from the freeze-out, we also noted there is someone different sitting in WSOP Main Event champ Joe McKeehen’s seat.

Event 17: Blumenfield Doubles Thru Burt

Neil Blumenfield awaits his fate
Neil Blumenfield awaits his fate

Neil Blumenfield returned from the first break with less than 5,000 and he put them to work when he returned. He three-bet shoved against Tim Burt and his AdKh was racing QhQd.

“I have all the suits,” Blumenfield joked.

It was indeed that suits that would save him when it ran out a four-flush board with 9h8s3h4h7h to save his Event 17 seat.

Tim Burt – 13,500 (68 bb)
Neil Blumenfield – 11,000 (55 bb)

David Prociak (Orlando, FL)
David Prociak (Orlando, FL)

No slowing so far getting players in the $1,100 freeze-out with 133 in the game less than 90 minutes after the start and hours to go to get in.

Current Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year leader David Prociak jumped in after the start and warming up for one last qualifying event. He started his POY run with a second place finish in the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” Championship and followed that up with a runner-up result in the Seminole Casino Immokalee Poker Challenge Main Event.

Throw in a Coco Poker Showdown trophy and a final table appearance during the WPTDeepstacks Event 1 and Prociak is having a pretty decent 12 month stretch.
