Event 17 wasted no time jumping over the $100,000 prize pool mark, getting there before the first hour was in the books. We expect players to continue to make their way to the ballroom to push the money higher until registration closes after 6pm.

We found two Seminole Hard Rock Poker team members in early action. Cate Hall and Matt Affleck was among the first players in the game and we should see some more before the doors are locked.

Six-max can be a brutal game, even if you love the format. Jonathan Little expressed his fondness for the format but the freeze-out portion has left him with some time this afternoon to check out the property.

We saw him exciting late in Level 1 and he’ll have to wait for his next shot in the PLO this evening or the Heads Up tomorrow.

The freeze-out is slowly filling in this afternoon and well on its way to hitting the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. It will just be a question of how far it goes over.

Joe McKeehen is making his first appearance this series and it’s good to have the champ in the house. His reign as the WSOP Main Event champ will come to an end in a few months, but until then he holds the crown.

Since winning the title last November, McKeehen hasn’t been resting on his laurels. He has a half dozen big final table appearances since then including a WPT High Roller win. McKeehen cashed five times this summer during the WSOP with another two final tables, the biggest coming with a sixth-place finish in the $111,111 Big One for One Drop High Roller.

The remaining players will return tomorrow at 2pm and play down to a champion.
