Andros Ioakimides takes down $570 No-Limit Hold’em for $20,365

Andros Ioakimides has had a very profitable last two days. On Monday evening, Ioakimides finished sixth in the $2,500 no-limit hold’em for $17,063.

On Tuesday, Ioakimides jumped in the next on the Lucky Hearts Poker Open schedule and earned a win in the $570 no-limit hold’em. He topped a field of 162 in a heads-up ICM chop with Patrick Quinn to earn $20,365 and his second Hard Rock trophy.

“It feels great,” said Ioakimides after his win. “Going back-to-back [final][tables] is great. This is only my third tournament here, so it’s good. I love this place.”

Ioakimides, originally from Cyprus, owns a mortgage company based out of St. Louis. He made his way down to the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood for the first time a couple years ago on a recommendation from a friend.

“A couple years ago a friend told me that there is a good tournament here, so I came,” said Ioakimides. “And I loved it. This place is amazing. The staff is amazing. The weather is amazing. I love it.”

Ioakimides made his way from Missouri down to South Florida and immediately found poker success. He won the $1,650 no-limit hold’em purple chip bounty tournament at the 2015 Rock n’ Roll Poker Open for more than $26,000.

As a business owner, he only gets to play about 15 tournaments a year, but always makes time to come down to the Hard Rock.

He enjoys the South Florida area so much that he came down this time with some business intentions as well, hoping to set up some sort of roots down here with his company.

“I’m trying to open up an office down here in Boca Raton,” said Ioakimides. “So this is kind of like a business and pleasure trip. I want to try and open up another branch for my company.”

Ioakimides came into the final table with the chip lead and never really found himself in trouble of busting. After bustin Brent Sherota in fourth place, Ioakimides had more than half of the chips in play and he never looked back.

Peter Vivantonio busted in third and then there were immediately talks of a deal. After a couple minutes of running the ICM numbers, Quinn and Ioakimides agreed to the numbers and made the chop to give Ioakimides his second Hard Rock title.

Here are the final table results:
