Frankie Flowers

There continued to be a long string off all-ins called at the last two tables but most resulted in double ups. Frankie Flowers did some heavy lifting of his own.

Yigal Hen open/shoved for 360,000 and Flowers called next to act. Song Kim moved all-in over the top for 385,000 and the big blind went into the tank. After he released, Flowers quickly called.

Flowers: KcKd
Hen: JsJh
Kim: 4s4h

Flowers was dominating for the double KO and made it happen as the dealer spread the sweat-free 8h6d2hAdTh board to get them two steps closer to the final table.

Song Kim – Eliminated in 13th place ($1,189)

Former SHRPO Championship runner-up Brian Phillis

Once Event 9 hit the money, they wasted no time mixing it up for a double or payout. It was a steady pace to the cage and included Marty Robbins, Ariel Rosello, Brian Phillis, and Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah.

Level 18: 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 72 of 1,239

Arif Amirali

Event 9 played one bubble hand before the break and two more after before they dropped down to 72 players. On the second hand, Arif Amirali moved all-in over the top from the button after the cutoff open/shoved for 79,000.

The move caused Ariel Rosello to fold queens and Amirali was ahead for the knockout. Once all action was complete on the other tables, the hands were flipped up.

Amirali: JsJc
Opponent: Ad8d

Amirali needed to dodge the over card and diamonds and managed it on the 9s5c2s8h2h board to put Event 9 in the money.

Event 9: Break on the Bubble

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Returning to Level 18: 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 73 of 1,239

Runner-runner for the win

Event 9 hit the money bubble portion of the tournament shortly before the first break and they played one round of hand-for-hand action before leaving for 15-minute one from the money

Shortly before the bubble, former SHRP champ Nicholas Mahabee was on the wrong end of a 3% runner-runner bad beat. He was in the big blind against Paul Balzano and Alicia Goldstein to the Tc7c3c flop.

Goldstein and Mahabee got their chips in the middle with Goldstein at risk and a huge underdog.

Goldstein: KcKs
Mahabee: Ac8c

Mahabee’s flopped flush was a 97% favorite to knock out Goldstein but that wouldn’t make for an interesting hand. The Kd turn gave Goldstein a set of kings and the board paired the Th river for the runner-runner full house win.
