Event 1: Carlos Hostos Doubles Through Eli Levy

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 25: 15,000/30,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 79 of 3,107

Carlos Hostos

There is about 550,000 in the middle on the river with a completed board of Kd9c7h3h6h.

Eli Levy checks from the big blind and Carlos Hostos moves all from under the gun for about 300,000. Levy calls and Hostos quickly tables AhKh, good for the nut flush.

Levy tries to muck his hand, but the dealer tables it since it is an all in pot. The dealer tables Levy’s 9s8s, and Hostos doubles up.

Carlos Hostos – 1,150,000 (38 bb)
Eli Levy – 2,600,000 (86 bb)

Event 1: Saeed Tasharofi Doubles Through Michael Mizrachi, Eliminates David Wolff

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 24: 12,000/24,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 84 of 3,107

Saeed Tasharofi

David Wolff moves all in for 394,000 from early position and Michael Mizrachi calls from middle position.

After a fold, from the hijack, Saeed Tasharofi moves all in from the cutoff for 749,000. Action folds back to Mizrachi, who calls, and all three hands are tabled.

Tasharofi shows JcJh and is in great shape against Mizrachi’s 9s9d and Wolff’s 6d6h.

The board comes Tc8c4cTdKs and Tasharofi’s jacks hold up to more than double up and eliminate Wolff. Wolff finishes in 85th place and heads to the payout cage to collect his $1,510.

Saeed Tasharofi – 1,964,000 (81 bb)
Michael Mizrachi – 2,180,000 (90 bb)

Event 1: Grinder Gets More

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 24: 12,000/24,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 87 of 3,107

Michael Mizrachi continues to build a chip castle and recently added to his stack.

One opponent opened to 48,000 and Mizrachi three-bet to 102,000. Joseph Massaro four-bet shoved from the button for 210,000. The opener released his hand and Mizrachi quickly called.

Mizrachi: AhQh
Massaro: QhJc

Mizrachi gave Massaro a courtesy double up earlier in the level with 8c4c and Massaro looked good again after the 8c7h6s flop. It was the Jd turn card that was bad news for Massaro and he was eliminated in 93rd spot after the Td river.

Michael Mizrachi – 2,900,000 (121 bb)
Joseph Massaro – Eliminated in 93rd place ($1,398)

Event 1: Mizrachi’s Turn at the Top

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 23: 10,000/20,000 with a 3,000 ante
Players Remaining: 126 of 3,107

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi

The other 125 players remaining in Event 1 have a problem now. Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi has chips, a lot of chips.

We heard a little ruckus after the last break and made it to Eli Levy’s table in time to watch his pull in a big pot, seemingly to the detriment of Raminder Singh, and he’s now stacked over 2 million.

Not to be outdone, two-time WSOP Player’s Championship bracelet winner Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi has the top stack in the room with more than 2.5 million. There’s a long way to go but he’s a dangerous player with a big stack.

Michael Mizrachi – 2,550,000 (128 bb)
Eli Levy – 2,300,000 (115 bb)

Players are back in their seats after the break and we found someone with a bigger stack than any of the million chip gentlemen from before.

Julian Gallo pushed his way over 1.5 million and returned from break with 1.6 million. Gallo is a regular in the big SHRP series’ but still looking for his first title.

Players Remaining: 144 of 3,107

Eli Levy

Action is moving along at a nice clip and players are about to go on another short break. They’ll return to play another two, 40-minute levels before taking a dinner break and preparing for a long evening.

A quick walk through the field found a handful of players sporting seven-digit stacks including SHRP regular Eli Levy. Chips are moving rapidly and we’re staying on top of the big guns as they migrate to several spots.

Eli Levy – 1,300,000 (81 bb)
Kevin Deng – 1,165,000 (73 bb)
Gilbert Silva – 1,100,000 (69 bb)

Players Remaining: 171 of 3,107

Tony March

SHRP regular Tony March began his Day 2 with a sub-average stack but he’s working things in the right direction now. We caught up with him after the bubble when he doubled with 5d5h after the KsKc4c4d7d board and he’s since run it over 600,000 in the late afternoon.

March is a successful businessman and runs the Metro Ministries charity, where he donates his tournament proceeds. He’s on a good pace to make them a lot more money this evening.

Tony March – 610,000 (51 bb)

Event 1 dropped under 200 players and some bigger stacks are emerging including 2014 WSOP APAC Main Event champ Scott Davies. He’s piled his stack over 850,000 though lost a few recently in a blind-v-blind battle.

Former leaders Matthew Kuba and Jeffrey Trudeau are still sitting on nice stacks but both have dropped since their high-mark in the 700’s.
