Dan Colman

Jason Koon opened to 6,500 in middle position, and Dan Colman three-bet shoved for 87,000 in the small blind. Rainer Kempe, the newest addition to the table, re-shoved from the big blind.

Koon firmly announced a fold, tabling AdJs on the way into the muck.

“Thanks,” Colman said, a little perturbed to see some dead outs.

Colman: As8s
Kempe: QsQc

The board ran out 8h3d2sKh5s, and Kempe’s queens held to earn him the pot.

Colman was eliminated in 14th place, and Giuseppe Iadisernia followed in unlucky 13th just a moment later.

Rainer Kempe – 280,000 (70 bb)
Dan Colman – Eliminated

Josh Arieh

Dan Colman opened to 7,500 in middle position, and Josh Arieh three-bet shoved for what looked like 59,000 next to act. In the small blind, Tom Marchese re-shoved for about 125,000 total, and Colman reluctantly ducked out of the middle.

Arieh: 8s8d
Marchese: QsQd

The board ran out KcTd4hJh6d, and Marchese held to win the pot with a pair of queens. Arieh was eliminated in 15th place.

“I had the nuts,” Colman said quietly, hinting he may have folded aces-queen.

After the hand, Rainer Kempe was moved into the seat Arieh vacated in order to balance the tables.

The flop was Ac2h2d, and it checked around.

The turn was the 7s. Lehne checked, Kempe bet 22,000, Iadisernia folded, and Lehne called.

The river was the 8c, and Lehne checked again. Kempe moved all in for about 53,000 effective, having Lehne slightly covered. She pondered for just a moment before surrendering her cards into the muck.

Kempe won the pot, flashing Lehne the 2s as he mucked.

Rainer Kempe – 132,500 (44 bb)
Kathy Lehne – 53,000 (18 bb)

Chance Kornuth padded his big stack in one of the first hands after the dinner break.

On the turn of a ThTs6sJc board, Kornuth checked to David Cohen, who moved all in for about a pot-sized bet of 53,000. Kornuth instantly called to put him at risk.

Kornuth: AsTc
Cohen: KdJs

The 9s filled out the board on the river, and Kornuth won the pot with trip tens to eliminate Cohen in 16th place. The former appears to have taken the chip lead in the process.

Jason Koon

Jason Koon opened to 5,500 under the gun, and action folded around to Nick Schulman in the big blind. Schulman moved all in for about 65,000 effective, and Koon called all in for that amount to put himself at risk.

Koon: AhKc
Schulman: QdQc

The board ran out KhQsTd5d9c, and Schulman won the pot with a set of queens to eliminate Koon.

Despite the encounter on the felt, there are no hard feelings in an event of this caliber. The clock was just running out on the level as the hand played out, and the field was sent on their one-hour dinner break.

Koon looked at Schulman. “Sushi?”

“Sure, let’s go.”

Koon has until the end of the dinner break to re-enter, should he so choose.

Nick Schulman – 290,000 (121 bb)
Jason Koon – Eliminated

Tom Marchese was moved to Giuseppe Iadisernia’s old seat and Giuseppe Iadisernia is now in Marchese’s.

Giuseppe Iadisernia

Giuseppe Iadisernia’s roller coaster ride took a big dip when he shipped a double up over to Kathy Lehne to leave him short.

A few hands later, Josh Arieh opened to 5,300 and David Peters three-bet to 13,800. Iadisernia called all in for less and Arieh considered coming along. He thought for a minute and released his hand.

Peters: Kh9h
Iadisernia: 4c2d

Iadisernia had a chance but missed as the board ran AdJh7dAh3c to send him to the rail.

But he didn’t stay there for very long. A few minutes later he was walking back in with another ticket to his ride.

David Peters – 283,600 (118 bb)

Josh Arieh

Kathy Lehne opened to 5,000 from under the gun, Josh Arieh called from the cutoff along with Giuseppe Iadisernia in the big blind. Iadisernia checked the Jc5s5d flop, Lehne bet 10,000 to get a call from Arieh and fold from Iadisernia.

Lehne checked the 5c turn and Arieh bet 13,000 with ~19,000 behind. Lehne called, the river came 6s and Lehne checked again. Arieh moved all in, Lehne asked for a count and called after hearing 18,600.

Arieh tabled KhJh for fives full of jacks and Lehne mucked her hand.

Josh Arieh – 100,700 (50 bb)
Kathy Lehne – 53,000 (27 bb)
