Tri Nguyen

Tri Nguyen raised to 18,000 from the cutoff and the player in the big blind moved all in for 77,000. Nguyen called and the cards were tabled.

Nguyen showed Kh8h and was dominated by the big blind’s KsJd.

The flop was 8d7d6h, however, and Nguyen moved into the lead after spiking a three-outer on the flop. The turn was the 4d, giving the big blind some chop outs, but the Tc on the river sent the pot to Nguyen and eliminated the big blind.

Nguyen won the pot and is chipping up nicely as they are just a few eliminations away from being in the money.

Tri Nguyen – 455,000

On a flop of Qh9c2s, Alejandro Armas checked from the big blind and the player in the hijack bet 40,000. Armas check-raised all in and the hijack mulled it over for about a minute before calling.

The hijack was all in for about 105,000 and showed 6c6s. He was in bad shape against Armas’ QdJh.

He needed a six to stay alive, but the 8c on the turn and the Ac on the river sent the pot to Armas and eliminated the hijack.

Alejandro Armas – 251,000

There was about 110,000 in the pot on the river with a completed board Tc8h8s6c7c. Patrick Quinn bet 50,000 from the small blind and Francis Margaglione called from the hijack.

“I think this gets it all,” said Quinn.

Quinn showed Qc8c, having flopped trip eights and ran clubs for a flush. Margaglione mucked his hand and Quinn took the pot. He came into the day as the chip leader and extended it with his early rungood.

Patrick Quinn – 580,000
Francis Margaglione – 125,000
