The Purple Chip Bounty continued to grow before and after the first break with SHRP regular Uri Kadosh making the most of it. The 2011 RRPO NLH/PLO champ pushed his stack near 60,000 after a few levels to lead the way.

Other notables include Howard Evans (56,300), Ryan Van Sanford (28,000), Wendy Freedman (19,700), Eddy Sabat (16,000), Dylan Wilkerson (12,800), and Qasem Jamhour (10,000).

It didn’t take long for the Purple Chip Bounty to surpass it’s $100,000 Guarantee. Less than hour after the start, the prize pool began climbing higher with late registration available until 3:30 pm. Bounty tournaments are one of the few that most players enter early or on time with money available from the start.

Three-time WSOP champ Brian Hastings was in the room from the start but will be dealing with nine-time WSOP Circuit champ Ari Engel on his right for most of the day.

They have 54 entries in the mix in the early stages of the Purple Chip Bounty and 67 are needed to hit the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. There seems to be little risk of missing it.

The Purple Chip Bounty tournament is always one of the favorites on any SHRP series schedule. We roll out this version with a slight twist.

The $1,650 buy-in tournament has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool with $500 bounties and a two-day format. The twist comes in the form of using a big blind ante structure, a new trend used to speed up the game. Instead of every player putting in an ante for each hand, now the player in the big blind will ante for every player.

This is the first major SHRP tournament to run with this format and we look forward to the feedback.

Players will sit down to 15,000 starting stack and the first eight levels will last 30 minutes. They will switch up to 40 minutes levels from that point forward for the remainder of the tournament. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm and unlimited re-entries are available during that time.

This is a two-day event and all players remaining with chips at the end of Level 19 will bag them up for a return tomorrow for Day 2.
