Gino Cham

The first break is complete and player returned to their seats for Level 4.

Gino Cham leads the way after the break with 100,800 and the only player over six-digits. The closest to him looks like Ayca Erakbas with 95,000 and Mark Dube who is sitting behind 90,000 after three levels.

Cham began his series with a nice run in the opening tournament. He made deep on Day 2 of the Ultimate Re-Entry event and finished 21st out of 4,508 entries.

Other notable counts:

  • Chris Da Silva – 73,000 (365 bb)

Aaron Massey

We are nearing the first break of the day and more big names are joining the field including the popular Massey Brothers.

Aaron and Ralph have combined for more than $4.5 million in career earnings and both had a great summer in Las Vegas. They each had five WSOP cashes and both made a final table. Aaron finished fourth in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event and Ralph finish eighth out of 7,361 in the Millionaire Maker.

Paul Balzano

The entry count clicked over 250 as we rolled into the second level. Unfortunately, one of those was for SHRP regular Paul Balzano.

The former Poker Showdown champ ran his two pair into the nuts and needed to use his single re-entry option (per flight) to rejoin the field.

Balzano has more than $1.5 million in career earnings with his second biggest score coming with a seventh-place finish in the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship.

We are seeing a lot of our SHRP friends in early action as the entry count climbs. Some were here at the start and some are taking their seats for the first time.

Willie Wiggins (pictured above) made a splash in the first tournament of the series when he made the final table in the Ultimate Re-Entry tournament. He was part of a three-way deal that saw him bank $176,120 for a second-place finish to Michael Newman.

Their day will come to an end after Level 15 and those with chips will bag them up for a Day 2 return on Sunday.

WPTDeepStacks Main Event on Deck

The preliminary tournaments are playing out as we prepare to run the headline event of the series as the WPTDeepStacks Lucky Hearts Poker Main Event kicks off tomorrow at noon in the Hard Rock Event Center with the first of three starting flights.

The huge tournament has a $1,100 buy-in with a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. We host some of the biggest events on their tour and we expect nothing different as we head into the last weekend of the series

Players will sit down to 30,000 deep starting stacks and, as all WPTDeepStacks stops, tournament levels will last 40 minutes from start to finish. If something goes wrong with their stack, players are permitted a single re-entry into the Main Event per flight. The final table is slated to play on Tuesday afternoon and it will be live-stream on WPT.com for the world to see.

If you are looking to enter the Main Event for a smaller amount, we will continue to have satellites running right up until the morning of the last flights. See the information below for Main Event structure and satellite schedule.
