Moshe Shabat

Moshe Shabat opened from the small blind for 50,000 and Zhi Cheng We raised to 200,000 from the button, covering Shabat’s 165,000 stack. Shabat called and they were racing.

Cheng Wu: 7c7h
Shabat: AdTd

Shabat needed to pair one of his over cards or find some diamonds to double up. The dealer ran out the 9h6d2cJsQs board, no love for Shabat, and Cheng Wu picked up another $500 bounty.

Albert Daher

Albert Daher open-shoved for 96,000 from the cutoff and Schahin Ghiai thought about coming along from the button. He peeked at Zhi Cheng Wu’s stack and then folded. Moshe Shabat folded his small blind and Cheng Wu called in the big.

Cheng Wu: Ad6s
Daher: Th9h

Daher had two live cards to double up, the flop came Ah9d6c, and Cheng Wu stayed in the lead with two pair, aces and sixes.

“Hearts!” Daher asked.

A heart came 6h turn.

“Not that one,” Daher said as Cheng Wu made a boat. Daher caught his flush on the Kh river but it was too little too late to save his spot.

Zhi Cheng Wu – 976,000 (122 bb)
Albert Daher – Eliminated in 5th Place ($6,335)

Players Remaining:  5 of 111

Ronny Beda

Ronny Beda opened to 30,000 from the button and chip leader Zhi Cheng Wu announced all in from the big blind.

“Did you say all-in?” Beda asked. When it was confirmed, Beda shrug-called for 165,000 and saw the hands.

Cheng Wu: 9c9h
Beda: 7d7s

Beda’s pair was dominated and Cheng Wu was already celebrating as the board ran out Qd5d4cJsAd. Beda was eliminated in sixth place while Cheng Wu solidified his lead.

Zhi Cheng Wu – 880,000 (110 bb)
Ronny Beda – Eliminated in 6th Place ($5,200)

Carlos Guerrero

It was four-ways to a flop of Ts9h6h and Carlos Guerrero moved all in from the small blind for 26,000. Schahin Ghiai folded, Zhi Cheng Wu raised to 60,000 and Tomas Soderstrom called. The turn was Kh, Cheng Wu bet another 40,000 and Soderstrom called. The river was Jh, Cheng Wu bet 45,000 and Soderstrom folded.

Cheng Wu: Qh8h
Guerrero: 8s6s

Guerrero flopped the lead but Cheng Wu turned the second nut flush to send him out in seventh place.

Zhi Cheng Wu – 715,000 (89 bb)
Carlos Guerrero – Eliminated in 7th Place ($4,405)

Event 8: Padraig O’Neill – 8th Place ($3,835)

Ghiai: Ah5h
O’Neill: 5c5d

O’Neill was in great shape for his needed double but Ghiai hit the AsJc6c flop to take the lead with his paired ace. The Th turn and 3s river could not help O’Neill and he was sent out in eighth place.

Schahin Ghiai – 557,000 (70 bb)
Padraig O’Neill – Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,835)
