After the quick pace of the first three levels, the break came at a good time for players to take a breather. With no bubble play, the short stacks slid into the money with no trouble and they picked up the action.

There were 30 players getting paid soon after and we will post the results once things settled down at the payout desk.

Tournament dealers stand and await further instructions

With the bubble nearing, tournament staff paused the action and asked dealers to stand when they were done the current hand. During that time, one player elimination was announced on Table 10. The clock was paused when all action was complete, heads were counted, and Event 1 was officially in the money without the need of hand-for-hand action.

There are 470 players remaining, all guaranteed to make some cash today.

The blinds are up as the money bubble nears. It will be a race between making the money or making the next break, it will be close.

Event 1: Mark Dube Sends One Out; David Moses Improving

$400 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 16:  2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 592 of 4,699

Mark Dube

Mark Dube did his part to help the quick exodus from Event 1. His opponent under the gun open-shoved for ~40,000, Dube called from the cutoff and the small blind called as well.

Both live players checked it down until the board read KhQc4cKcTd. The small blind player check again, Dube bet 20,000 and picked up a call. He tabled Jd9d for a king-high straight, the small blind was second best with AdTc, and the at risk player was sent out with 9h9s.

Mark Dube – 292,000 (58 bb)

Meanwhile, David Moses began the day with a big stack and continued to build over the first level. His 410,000 puts him among the leaders as the money bubble nears.

David Moses – 410,000 (82 bb)

Event 1: Gilles Dalco Up Early

Gilles Dalco

Nearly 100 players hit the rail in the first 30 minutes of the day but Gilles Dalco is not one of them. While others drop, he moved his stack up to 581,500 and looks like the new Event 1 leader. Dalco began with the eighth-best stack and moving higher.

Two other notables cruising through Day 2 are two former champions of this event.

Rafael Reis won this tournament in 2016 when the 5,018 entries created the biggest field in Florida state history. He’s grinding it out today but comfortable with 201,000.

Trung Pham won RRPO Event 1 a little more recently; he is the defending champ after taking home the trophy last year. He is also in the safe zone with 180,000.
