Gabriel Ramos
Event 13 Champion Gabriel Ramos Wins His Fifth SHRP Trophy

Event 13 of the 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was a $400 Omaha 8/Stud 8 (Single Re-Entry). A field of 68 entries generated a prize pool of $23,120

The final table was very accomplished with Seminole Hard Rock regulars Joel Harwood and Carey Pickus, and well-respected mixed-game stalwarts “Miami” John Cernuto and John Holley.

In the end, it was another familiar face back in the winner circle in a Seminole Hard Rock tournament series. Gabriel Ramos and Cernuto agreed to a head-up chop and as the chip leader, Ramos was officially the victor.

For Ramos, it is his fifth SHRP trophy, tying him with Michael Newman, Michael Laake, Julio Fernandez and Brian Altman. He trails only David Prociak who leads with seven.

“That’s one of my favorite things about coming to the Seminole Hard Rock,” said Ramos after his win. “You have amazing players like David Prociak and Phil Hui. Even specifically in this series, there’s been some other bracelet winners that have played like Robert Mizrachi and Brandon Shack-Harris, and it’s been great. To beat these guys it just means so much more to me.”

Ramos takes a lot of pride in playing his best and getting rewarded with the wins makes it all worth it.

“I’ve been working really hard on all my mixed games and I just love coming down here to play. It means a lot to win it.”
