Flight B of Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 1 is underway in the Event Center and it will push the entry count one step closer to a huge prize pool.

The $600 buy-in tournament has a $1,000,000 Guarantee and the 376 entries in Flight A set the pace. With the flights expected to grow as we head towards the weekend, there is little doubt it will get there.

Each entrant will start with a 20,000 deep stack and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 with unlimited re-entries during that time. Play in Flight B will come to an end after Level 14 and survivors will bag up for a Day 2 return on Sunday.

  • $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 20,000 in chips
  • Single ante will be paid from the big blind for the entire table
  • Day 1 levels last 30 minutes; Day 2 levels last 40 minutes
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 9
  • Day 1 will end after Level 14 or Tournament Director discretion

Event 1 Flight A: Reynel Hernadez Over 200K

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 800/1,600 with a 1,600 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 90 of 376

Reynel Hernandez

Action slowed a bit after the last break and we still have 10 tables remaining as they can see the finish line. We expected between 50 to 60 players would advance but it looks like they will be north of that.

Reynel Hernandez is the latest to take a turn at the top of the counts and the only player over 200,000. That gives him the lead and a great shot at the end-of-day lead in a few levels.

Event 2: Prize Pool and Payouts with $9,925 to the O8 Champ

$400 Limit Omaha 8 (Re-Entry)
$30,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 2,000/4,000 Limits
Players Remaining: 45 of 92

The math is complete and we have our official numbers for the Omaha 8 event. The tournament drew 92 entries to beat the $30,000 Guarantee and put $31,280 in the prize pool.

The last 12 spots will be paid out with $780 for a min-cash and $9,925 for the first SHRPO champ of the series.

Peter Walsworth

The Omaha 8 tournament is nearing the end of its registration period and they crossed over the $30,000 guaranteed prize pool not long before Level 8 came to an end. They might pick up a few more entries to push it higher.

One of the recent entries has history in this tournament. Peter Walsworth returned to the Event Center as the defending champion when he won the 2018 SHRPO Omaha 8 title for his third overall SHRP win.

Event 1 Flight A: Arthur Holmes Jumps to the Top

Arthur Holmes

A quick walk on the last break found two stacks towering over the others. Arthur Holmes won a huge three-way all in pot as Level 8 came to an end and leads Flight A with 162,500.

James Kirvin was among the leaders at the first break and sits in second after the second. His 150,600 will put him in contention for the end-of-day lead but there are several 100K stacks trying to chase both down.

Sam Panzica

Time is running out to join the first flight of the first event of the 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. Level 8 will come to an end in a few minutes, players will take a 15-minute break, and registration will close when they return.

Sam Panzica was one of the late entries trying to grind up a Day 2 stack. The two-time WPT Champions Club member picked up a nice $100K score here during the last Poker Showdown when he finished second in the $1,100 NLH tournament after a heads-up deal.
