The players returned from their first break to begin Level 9, with increased blinds of 1,000-1,500 and a big blind ante of 1,500.

Registration is now closed, and it looks like the field was big enough to triple the $10,000 guarantee. As soon as we get official numbers from the tournament staff, we will post the prizepool here.

A scan of the field during the break turned up four players with at least 150K in chips, creating an unofficial leaderboard:

1.  Ducarmel Beaubien  –  230,500  (154 bb)
2.  Ed Denton  –  177,000  (118 bb)
3.  David Albertson  –  173,500  (116 bb)
4.  Eugene Poleon  –  165,000  (110 bb)

Event 16 Field

There were about 85 players in the field when action got underway in the Poker Room (not the usual tournament ballroom today), but a good-sized line kept new players streaming in to grow the field.

After 15 minutes, the field was up to 123 entries as Level 2 began, and the registration line indicated the field would continue to grow for a while.

The field surpassed the $10,000 guarantee from the start, and it looks likely that it’ll be at least double that by the time registration closes at the end of the first break (around 8:15 pm).
