2021 RRPO Event 18 Champion Dwayne Nyholt

Event 18  of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open was a $150 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry). A field of 289 entries came to play and created a prize pool of $34,680, easily surpassing the $20,000 guarantee.

A deal was reached between the final four players and as the chip leader, Dwayne Nyholt was the official Event 18 champion.

David Singer raised all in for 325,000 from under the gun and Carlos Galvis called all in for 285,000 from the cutoff with AcAh, leading Singer’s Ad7s.

The board ran out 9s8d5hJsKh, safe for Galvis to double up while leading Singer with just 40,000.

On the following hand, Singer was in the big blind and all in for the ante. Meanwhile, Eugene Poleon raised to 125,000 from the button and Dwayne Nyholt called from the small blind.

They checked to the turn of a 10d8s3hKs board where Nyholt bet 150,000. Poleon raised all in for about 550,000 and Nyholt called instantly with 10c10s, having the hand locked up against Poleon’s AhKh for a pair kings and Singer’s Kc6s for a pair of kings as well.

The $3,500 buy-in Championship isn’t for everyone. For those with a smaller bankroll, we have a nice RRPO trophy event tonight at 7 pm in the Grand Ballroom. It is a $150 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em game with a nice $20,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players start with 15,000 big stack and the first eight levels last 15 minutes. Registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 9:15 pm and blind levels increase to 20 minutes.

This one-day tournament will play down to a winner this evening when we award another RRPO trophy.
