2021 RRPO Event 30 Champion Duff Charette

Event 30 of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open was the $5,000 Eight-Max No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry), a staple closing event towards the end of the SHRP major series.

Emerging victorious was Duff Charette, winning outright for $206,345.

“It was a crazy final table,” Charette said afterward. “I made a big fold early on with nine players left with jacks against the chip leader. I was third in chips at the time, so there were things I had to consider. It all worked out in the end.”

With four players left, Charette had less than five big blinds. He was able to avoid all-in confrontations in some surprising spots, and he was able to win the ones where the chips did get in.

“I picked up so many hands where it was easy for me to go all in, and my opponents just didn’t have the hands to call. Then when we got heads-up, those crazy hands happaned.”

The victory also sets a milestone for Charette, pushing him past the million-dollar mark in live tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob poker database.
