Registration closed for the 2021 Poker Showdown HORSE event and it followed in the footsteps of yesterday’s Limit Omaha 8 tournament; setting a brand new record.

Event 3 drew 153 entries to the freeze-out tournament to easily beat the record set a decade ago during the 2011 Poker Showdown. That tournament drew 128 entries and the record held up until today.

2021 Poker Showdown (April) – 153 entries
2011 Poker Showdown (April) – 128 entries
2021 LHPO (January) – 102 entries
2013 SHRPO (August) – 102 entries
2018 SHRPO (August) – 99 entries

We will post the prize pool and payout information as soon as it is available.

Nick Pupillo

The great start to the series continues with the H.O.R.S.E. as more than 100 players are in the freeze-out in the first hour. The tournament already has the second biggest H.O.R.S.E. field in our history and not far from the top spot.

Nick Pupillo is trying to follow the same path he took in January during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open. He bagged a big stack in Event 1 on the first day of play, entered the H.O.R.S.E. on the second, and took home the title. Now at the Showdown, Pupillo was the biggest stack in Event 1 Flight A and he’s back in the H.O.R.S.E. tournament trying to defend his win.

Event 3: H.O.R.S.E. on Deck

$400 H.O.R.S.E. (Freeze-Out)

A new day on the schedule means another interesting one-day trophy event. Event 3 gets underway at noon with a $400 H.O.R.S.E. freeze-out for our mix game friends.

The tournament will rotate between Limit Hold’em, Limit Omaha 8, Razz, Seven-Card Stud, and Seven-Card Stud 8 every eight hands until we have a champion.

This tournament drew 102 players in January and we expect to match that total this afternoon.
