Shelly Roth
Shelly Roth

Shelly Roth began this final table with less than a single big bet, and she’d begin one spot away from the big blind.

That first hand, Roth folded.

In the second hand, Roth put out 10,000 for the big blind, leaving her with just 7,000 behind. Yuval Bronshtein raised from the hijack to 20,000, Matt Woodward reraised from the cutoff to 30,000, and Roth tanked for a while before she folded. Bronshtein called.

They made it to the turn on a board of QsQc7dJd, and Roth indicated that she almost certainly would have busted if she had called there.

Shelly Roth  –  7,000  (1/3 BB)

In the third hand of this final table, Roth had 5,000 out for the small blind, and just 2,000 left in her stack.

Donny Rubinstein raised under the gun to 20,000, Roth called all in from the small blind for 7,000, and the big blind folded.

Donny Rubinstein:  5c3h2h2c
Shelly Roth:  Ac7h7d6s

The board came AdKd7s2d5h, and Roth won the high side of the pot with a set of sevens, while Rubinstein won the low side with a 7-5 low. Roth made a small profit on the hand to stay alive.

Shelly Roth  –  11,000  (1/2 BB)

In the fourth hand of this final table, James Gunter raised from the cutoff to 20,000, Roth called all in from the button for 11,000, and Donny Rubinstein called from the big blind.

Both players checked to the turn on a board of 9d8d3cKh, Rubinstein checked, Gunter bet 20,000, and Rubinstein folded. Gunter took the side pot.

For the main pot, Gunter and Roth turned over their cards:

James Gunter:  AsKd3d2s  (two pair, diamond flush draw, 8-3 low draw)
Shelly Roth:  Ac10h7d3h  (pair of threes, open-ended straight draw, 8-7 low draw)

The river card was the 4h, and Gunter scooped the pot with his two pair for the high, and an 8-4 low, eliminating Roth in ninth place.

James Gunter  –  270,000  (14 BB)
Shelly Roth  –  Eliminated in 9th Place  ($2,625)
