Trung Pham

Trung Pham raised from the hijack to 1,200, and the player in the big blind called.

The flop came 3h2h2d, the big blind checked, Pham bet 1,700, and the big blind called.

The turn card was the 9s, the big blind checked, Pham moved all in for more than 100,000, and the big blind tanked for a very long time before he called all in for about 9,000 with Jh3s for two pair, threes and deuces.

But Pham turned over 7d7c for a higher two pair, sevens and deuces, and the big blind needed to catch a three on the river to stay alive.

The river card was the 8c, and Pham won the pot with his pocket sevens to eliminate the player in the big blind.

Trung Pham  –  133,000  (266 bb)

The field is up to 258, creating a prizepool worth more than $135,000, which crushes the $50K guarantee. Registration remains open with a single re-entry option until 4:30 pm.

2.  Trung Pham  –  115,000  (288 bb)
3.  Manny Minaya  –  75,100  (188 bb)

Mario De La Puente

We walked up to Mario De La Puent’s table in time to see him get his 5,600 stack in the middle with the board reading Jc5d3s. He was in trouble with Jh4h against KhJd but the 4c turn changed his fate.

De La Puente is from South Florida but his tournament wins are away from the area including two wins during the 2019 WPTDeepStacks Tampa series.

Brian Altman (left) and Thomas Gari (right)

Event 26 is doing its best to double the guarantee before the first break. They’ve run the prize pool over $80,000 from the $50,000 guarantee with a pretty steady pace of new entries.

SHRP Poker Room favorite Thomas Gari did not find a favorable table draw at the front of the room. He began his day playing three-handed and one of his opponents was three-time WPT champ Brian Altman. The other spot belongs to six-time WSOP Circuit winner Blake Whittington.
