Event 5 of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was a $400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry). A field of 302 entries took part and created a prize pool of $102,680, more than quadrupling the guarantee.

The tournament lasted nearly 16 hours and outlasting the field was Clifford Conners. The native New Yorker took it down outright for $22,750.

For Conners, it was an emotional victory played with his late mother in mind.

“It wasn’t about the money,” Conners said afterward. “My mother passed away recently, so this was for her. I really wanted to win.”

We have two new tournaments on the schedule today for those who don’t make it deep in the Event 1 restart. The first goes at noon with a $400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool and one-day structure.

Players will start with 20,000 deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm with a single re-entry available if needed. A dinner break is planned for 6 pm and they will play down to a champion after the return.

Cards go in the air at noon and we will hit the highlights along the way.
