Event 13 of the 2022 Lucky Hearts Poker Open was the $400 Seniors 50+ NLH (Re-Entry). A field of 281 entries generated a prize pool of $94,135, and the final table saw a familiar face emerge victoriously.

Marc Levy was the chip leader with five players remaining and a deal was reached, making Levy the official winner for $12,814.

“I won the Seniors event a few years ago,” said Levy afterward, “So it’s pretty nice to win it again.”

Levy’s first SHRP major series victory was at the 2013 Rock ‘N’ Roll series, winning a $300 NLH event for $8,000. He followed that with the aforementioned Seniors event victory at the 2016 SHRPO series, earning $14,048. His third came later that year at the 2016 Rock ‘N’ Roll series, winning a $570 NLH event for $49,910.

Santana Noronha
Santana Noronha

Tom Starkey limped from the small blind and Santana Noronha checked in the big blind.

The flop was 10c9h6d, Starkey bet 60,000, Noronha raised all in for 285,000 and Starkey thought for a few moments before he called.

Starkey:  10d7d
Noronha:  10h3c

Both had a pair of tens, but Starkey had the better kicker.

The 4c turn and 9s river completed the board, giving both tens and nines. However, Starkey’s seven kicker played, ending Noronha’s tournament in sixth place.

Tom Starkey  –  1,300,000  (22 bb)
Santana Noronha  –  Eliminated in 6th Place  ($3,750)

Gary Herstein
Gary Herstein

Gary Herstein raised from the button to 200,000 (leaving himself just 10K behind), and Tom Starkey called from the small blind.

The flop came Js5c2c, Starkey moved all in, and Herstein called all in for 10,000 with AsKc for ace high.

But Starkey turned over Ah9d for ace high with a lower kicker, and Herstein was actually a big favorite to double up.

The turn card was the 6s, and the river card was — the 9c.

Starkey spiked a nine on the river to win the pot with a pair of nines, eliminating Herstein in seventh place.

Tom Starkey  –  1,130,000  (38 bb)
Gary Herstein  –  Eliminated in 7th Place  ($3,150)

With six players remaining, the average chip stack is about 935,000 (31 big blinds), and the remaining players are all guaranteed at least $3,750 each.

The next hand after the elimination of John Maness in ninth place, Paul Leckey raised from the cutoff to 80,000, Sumner Camisa moved all in from the big blind for 415,000, and Leckey called with 9s9d.

Camisa turned over AsAc, and needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board came 9c4c3c8h2h — Leckey flopped a set of nines to Camisa’s club flush draw, but Camisa improved no further. Leckey won the pot with his set of nines to eliminate Camisa in eighth place.
