2022 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 2 $400 Limit Omaha 8 (Re-Entry) Entries: 150 Prize Pool: $50,250 January 13, 2022
Event 2 of the 2022 Lucky Hearts Poker Open was the $400 Limit Omaha 8 (Re-Entry). A field of 150 entries took part, the fourth most in SHRP history for this event. The generated prize pool was $50,250, with $13,665 up top for the winner.
Emerging victorious outright was Jay Kerbel, who won this same event two months ago at the 2021 Rock N’ Roll Poker Open.
Beginning the final table with the chip lead, Kerbel maintained it for much of the way until action was three-handed. When it got to heads-up, Kerbel was slightly behind but went on a heater to end things in about 20 minutes, winning his second SHRP trophy.
Heads-up play between Sam Sternfield and Jay Kerbel saw the table tilt in Kerbel’s favor. On the final hand, Sternfield committed his last 80,000-ish from the button and Kerbel called from the big blind.
The board ran out , giving Kerbel a queen-high straight to seal the deal, winning the $400 Omaha 8 event for the second consecutive series, collecting $13,665 for his efforts.
Sternfield finished runner-up for $8,695.
A recap of the event will be posted later tonight.
Levy had the nut low with ace-deuce, while Sternfield’s four was good for the high with nines and fours. Binns’ flopped flush draw missed, while his second-best low was no good either, ending his tournament in ninth place.
Marc Levy – 390,000 (16 big bets) Sam Sternfield – 360,000 (15 big bets) John Binns – Eliminated in 9th Place ($1,385)
