The Championship is about to hit its first break of the day shortly after the entry count clicked over 500 for Day 1A. That leaves the field very close to hitting the $2,000,000 with most of 1A remaining and all over Day 1B.

A few more regulars were found in the headliner including Rafael Lima, Joel Harwood, and Matthew Zarcadoolas.

Frank Brannan

As Level 1 was coming to an end, Frank Brannan was in a hand with the flop reading 9c4s2s. He bet 3,200 from the small blind and his opponent in middle position raised to 10,100. Brannan moved all in for 41,700 and the other player went into the tank.

After two minutes to think it through, he tossed in a black chip to call and the cards were tabled.

Brannan: 2c2d
Opponent: Td9d

Brannan was ahead with bottom set of deuces against top pair/ten kicker and they held as the board finished with the 6d turn and 4d river. They counted down the stacks and Brannan had his opponent covered by about 1,000.

Brannan is trying to bookend his series with great results. He started his LHPO run by finishing third out of 4,960 entries in Event 1 for a $175K payout.

While it’s great to see a lot of top players in today’s game, we love seeing our regular locals and visitors from across the state who support our events. We caught two pair sitting next to each other, both from South Florida and our friends from Tampa.

Jeff Trudeau Jr and Dion Jagroo are regular fixtures in our Poker Room while Filipp Khavin and Jeremy Becker can often be found in our sister room in Tampa.
