There was a three-way preflop all-in situation at Table 40, and these were their hands in descending order of chip counts:
Richard Rodriguez (middle position): Anthony Askey (middle position): Dinyar Irani (cutoff):
The board came , and Rodriguez spiked a seven on the river to win the entire pot with a full house, sevens full of fives, eliminating both of his opponents from the tournament.
Rodriguez (seated in seat 9) admitted that he didn’t realize Askey (seated in seat 1) was in the hand, and thought he was just up against Irani, who was all in for about 135,000.
“If I was paying attention,” said Rodriguez, “none of this would have happened.”
But the mistake worked out for Rodriguez, who is now sitting on 710,000 in chips.
Richard Rodriguez – 710,000 (71 bb) Anthony Askey – Eliminated in 25th Place ($280) Dinyar Irani – Eliminated in 26th Place ($280)

Michael Newman was down to 7,000 when the Money Bubble began, and he would have been forced all in from the big blind on Hand #4.
But as it happened, somebody at another table was eliminated in Hand #1, and Newman survived the Money Bubble to make it into the money.
The first hand after the bubble, Newman got it all in from middle position against two other players, and they checked all the way down on a board of .
UTG+1: (two pair, queens and fives) Big Blind: (two pair, aces and queens) Michael Newman: (two pair, aces and queens)
With the king on the board, neither kicker played, so Newman and the big blind chopped the pot between them.
Michael Newman – 15,000 (3 bb)
The next hand, the under-the-gun player limped for 6,000, and Newman moved all in from UTG+1 for 15,000. A player in middle position called, as did the UTG player.
The two players checked all the way down on a board of , and all three players turned over their cards.
UTG: (pair of threes) Middle Position: (ace high) Michael Newman: (pair of jacks)
Newman woke up with a surprisingly strong hand, and his jacks held up for him to win the pot and triple up in chips.
Michael Newman – 54,000 (9 bb)
A few minutes later, Newman appeared to have doubled up again, as he had more than 100K in chips. He lost a bit of it after that, but when Level 18 began with blinds of 4,000-8,000, he had about 105,000 in his stack.
Michael Newman – 105,000 (13 bb)
