The Mixed PLO tournaments are a relatively new game on our big tournament schedules, LHPO Event 10 only the sixth time we’ve run this format. After a victory in today, Matt Bretzfield has finished at the top in three of those tournament. He took the top prize in Event 10 after a heads-up deal that saw him earn $14,963.

This was a milestone victory for Bretzfield for several reasons; this is his fifth career Hollywood major title, his fourth straight in consecutive series, and his third Mixed PLO title in the last 12 months.

Bretzfield is the first player to win four trophies in four straight series in our long history. There are a handful of players who did it in three straight but he now stands alone as the only player with four in a row. Here’s a look at his five trophy runs:

After Danny Chang was eliminated in third place, Matt Bretzfield and Gary Friedman quickly came to an agreement to chop up the remaining prize pool (nearly) right down the middle.

Bretzfield was the chip leader at the time and locked down his fifth major Hollywood trophy.
