Jake Ferro, Showdown $1,100 Limit Omaha 8 champion

The $1,100 Limit Omaha 8 had a great turnout with 71 entries creating a prize pool worth $68,870 and a familiar face took holding the trophy. After a long final table, former WPT Player of the Year Jake Ferro took the top spot for his first Hollywood title and first non-Hold’em win. He earned $24,100 along with the Poker Showdown trophy.

And he entered thinking it was a different game.

“I sat down at my first table and announced ‘pot’ on the first hand,” Ferror said after his win. “The entire table laughed at me. I thought it was PLO8.”

Ferro finished third place in the $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha 8 tournament last week and thought he would continue his nice run in that game. Instead, he now owns his first Poker Showdown trophy.

“The newest mix game master!” A.J. Kelsall joked after Ferro’s win.
