Flight H Entries:  787

While Flight H players were on their first break, entry number 787 bought in at the registration desk and RRPO Event 1 officially surpassed its $2,000,000 guarantee with 6,061 total entries.

Of course they aren’t done there, they will continue building the prize pool until registration closes at 9:30 pm.

Flight G Players Remaining:  198 of 1,284

Omar Morillo

Another break, probably the final break, ended after tournament staff pulled the purple chips out of play and we are back with 198 players remaining and 129 moving on to Day 2.

Omar Morillo is the late leader and doing well with 480,000. Jordan Richard is second with 458,000 followed by Michael Tufaro’s 451,000.

All three are in contention for the ClubWPT Gold Passport which will be awarded to the chip leader at the start of Day 2. Right now, that person is Meir Meystel with 857,000 but he can be caught.

Event 1 Flight G: Slow Grind

$400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$2,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 14:  1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante
Flight G Players Remaining:  261 of 1,284

Michael Tufaro

With bagging options shrinking, play is a bit tighter this evening than previous flights. There are still 261 players trying for one of the 129 spots advancing to Day 2 and they are holding strong to their chips.

Two players are taking advantage and building a stack. Michael Tufaro is now over 300K and among the leaders with 305,500 while Frank Russo made the most of a table change to grind his stack up to 193,000.

Event 1 Flight H: Final Flight

$400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$2,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1:  100/100

The last flight of RRPO Event 1 gets underway at 5 pm in the Grand Ballroom and it will not take long for the $400 Deep Stack to top its $2,000,000 guarantee. Only 787 new entries are needed to make the mark and it’s a virtual lock to fly past it.

Then we’ll see how big the prize pool will get.

Players start with 20K deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, then increase to 40 on Day 2 and 60 minutes starting with Level 24. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 9:30 pm.

Flight H will play down to the last 10% of the field and survivors will bag their chips for a Day 2 return tomorrow at 1 pm.

We have some added value in this tournament in the form of Club WPT Gold Passports. One will be awarded to the Day 2 returning chip leader and the nine players at the final table. The passport is good for an entry into their $5 Million Freeroll, which takes place at Wynn Las Vegas on Dec 13-15, 2024.

  • $2,000,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Club WPT Gold Passport will be awarded for the overall chip leader at the start of Day 2 and to the final 9 players at the final table

Patrick Biancone

Action is back underway after the third break, and tournament staff removed the black chips from play and replaced them with pretty blue 25K chips.

Patrick Biancone is the new leader with 275,500 but still a long way to catch overall chip leader Meir Meystel’s 857,000.

There’s still a lot of play to get through before they start preparing for the money bubble with 129 moving forward.

Action is back underway in Flight G, with registration closed and everyone grinding in the Grand Ballroom. With all these souls in play, there’s a lot of accounting to do, but the unofficial number shows 1,284 entries on the board.

It looks like Brandon Widden is the biggest stack in the room, after a quick walk around, sitting with just under 150K after eight levels.

Event 1 Flight G: Last Level to Register

Oniel Mccalla

Flight G rolled into Level 8 and it seems the only thing that will slow our players down is closing registration after the next break. There’s been no slowdown at the registration desk and no waiting for seats.

This is already the seventh-biggest single flight in our history and it should climb a spot or two before registration closes at 2:30 pm.

72 packed tables in the Grand Ballroom and another six in action across the hall in the Meeting Room. Those players may feel apart from the other action but they are part of the field that is now over 1,000 entries.

A few in the field over there include Richard Rice, Willie Wiggins, former WPTDeepStacks Hollywood champ Jason Young, and Johnny Bromberg (winner of this event during the 2023 SHRPO series).
