Chris Da-Silva
Event 28 Champion Chris Da-Silva

There were 95 entries in the two-day $1,100 Triple Stack Six-Max event, with 12 finishing in the money and seven players advancing to the final table on Day 2. Eventual winner Chris Da-Silva amassed a gigantic chip lead on Day 1, beginning the final table with more than 45% of all the chips in play, worth 260 big blinds.

If it hadn’t been for Da-Silva, Sebastian Toro Henao would have had a big lead of his own with 127 big blinds. (The other five players had between 19 and 49 big blinds each.) So it was no surprise that Da-Silva and Henao ended up heads-up against each other at the end.

After the elimination of Max Stevens in third place, Da-Silva started heads-up play with a 2.5-to-1 lead over Henao.

Then, in the first hand of heads-up play, Henao bet every street on a board of 9s6h5sKh6c, moving all in on the river for 570,000. Da-Silva eventually called with Js9h for two pair, nines and sixes, but Henao turned over Ks6d to double up into the lead with a full house.

That was the first time that Da-Silva didn’t have the lead at the final table, but Da-Silva managed to keep it close over the next 20 minutes.

The key hand came after a flop of Ad8c3c, with Da-Silva check-raising to 100,000, and then betting 140,000 on the 7c on the turn.

The river card was the Ah, Da-Silva checked, Henao bet 600,000, and Da-Silva check-raised all in for 1,120,000. Henao tanked for several minutes before he called with AcJs for trip aces. But Da-Silva turned over 7s7d to win the pot with a full house, doubling up to an 80-to-1 chip lead.

Down to two big blinds, Henao doubled up the next hand before Da-Silva won it all with pocket nines against six-deuce suited. Da-Silva won the title, the trophy, and $27,825.

Da-Silva is from England, and has more than $1.3 million in live tournament earnings, though this is his first trophy here at Seminole Hard Rock.

Congratulations to Chris Da-Silva!

Sebastian Toro Henao raised to 40,000, and Chris Da-Silva called from the big blind.

The flop came Ad8c3c, Da-Silva checked, Henao bet 35,000, and Da-Silva check-raised to 100,000. Henao called.

The turn card was the 7c, Da-Silva bet 140,000, and Henao called.

The river card paired the board with the Ah, Da-Silva checked, Henao bet 600,000, and Da-Silva thought for a while before he check-raised all in for 1,120,000. Henao went into the tank.

After a while, Henao wondered aloud if Da-Silva had pocket threes, or a flush, or maybe ace-three.

Henao tanked for a while longer before he asked Da-Silva, “Will you show me if I fold? I need to sleep well tonight.”

Da-Silva smiled, pointed to the payouts (showing $18,350 for second place), and said, “You’ll make a lot of money. You should sleep well with that.”

Henao tanked for a little while longer before he called with a slightly larger stack and turned over AcJs for trip aces.

But Da-Silva turned over 7s7d to win the pot with a full house, sevens full of aces, to double up into a monstrous 80-to-1 chip lead.

The flop came 9s6h5s, Henao bet 40,000, and Da-Silva called.

The turn card was the Kh, Henao bet 125,000, and Da-Silva tanked for a while before he called.

The river card paired the board with the 6c, and Henao tanked for a long time before he moved all in for 570,000. Da-Silva asked for an exact count and thought for a while before he called with Js9h for two pair, nines and sixes.

But Henao turned over Ks6d to win the pot with a full house, sixes full of kings, and double up in chips. Henao takes the lead, and it’s the first time at this final table that Da-Silva isn’t the chipleader.

Sebastian Toro Henao limped from the button for 15,000, which was unusual for this final table. Chris Da-Silva seemed suspicious and folded his small blind, and Max Stevens said he wasn’t going to fall for the trick and just checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came out, Stevens checked, Henao bet, and Stevens folded. Henao took the pot.

The next hand, Da-Silva limped from the button for 15,000, Stevens completed the small blind, and Henao checked his option in the big blind.

“It’s a whole new world at this final table,” said Stevens.

All three players checked to the turn on a board of 9h8c4h4c, and Stevens bet 20,000. Henao and Da-Silva both called.

The river card tripped the board with the 4d, and it checked to Da-Silva, who bet 210,000. Stevens thought for a while before he called, and Henao quickly folded.

Da-Silva turned over Kd4s for the nuts — quad fours — and Stevens mucked.

Ludlow quickly called all in for about 320,000 with JsJc, and Da-Silva turned over Kh10c. Ludlow needed his jacks to hold to stay alive.

The board came Kc9c7c4sQd — Da-Silva flopped a pair of kings to Ludlow’s jack-high flush draw, but no more clubs appeared. Da-Silva won the pot with his pair of kings to eliminate Ludlow in fourth place.
