The second of three bounty events on today’s schedule gets underway at 2 pm. This time we have a $600 buy-in Double Black Chip Bounty No-Limit Hold’em tournament with profit possibilities early in the day.

Players begin with 20K deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 6:30 pm.

Atanas Pavlov raised from middle position to 250,000, Antoine Sankari reraised from the cutoff to 650,000, and Alexandre Henry reraised from the button to 1,475,000 (which was most of his stack).

Pavlov moved all in for 2,575,000, Sankari folded, and Henry called all in for about 1,500,000 with 10s10d.

Pavlov turned over AsAh, and Henry needed to improve to stay alive.

The board came KhQc5h4d8d, and Morris flopped a gutshot straight draw, but improved no further. Culotta won the pot with his pocket deuces to eliminate Morris in 23rd place.

Ha Nguyen

Tomas Brokl raised UTG+1 to 250,000, Ha Nguyen reraised from the hijack to 650,000, and Sebastian Toro Henao min-reraised cut to 1,050,000. Brokl quickly folded, and Nguyen called.

Both players checked to the turn on a board of 9h8d5c7h, Nguyen checked, Henao bet 600,000, and Nguyen called fairly quickly.

The river card was the 6c, putting a nine-high straight on the board, and Nguyen moved all in for 3,600,000. Henao went into the tank for a very long time, eventually asking if Nguyen would show, but Nguyen seemed non-committal.

Henao eventually folded, and Nguyen showed AcQc to simply play the board. Henao tapped the table in apparent respect of the bluff as Nguyen took the pot.

If you like a lot of variety in your poker games, have we got a tournament for you at noon. Showdown Event 39 is a $1,100 buy-in 10-Game Mix tournament with a slow, two-day structure to give you plenty of play.

They’ll start with 30K in their stacks and all levels last 40 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 10 at 6:45 pm.

Day 1 will end after Level 15 and survivors will return tomorrow at noon to play it out for the title.
