We kicked off the 2026 Deep Stack Poker Series with a special $250 Slater Scoops Quad Stack No-Limit Hold’em tournament. It drew 381 entries, smashed the $50,000, and created a prize pool worth $78,105.

After a long day and tough final table, Matt Bretzfield added another trophy to his shelf, taking the top spot for $9,650 after a six-way deal. In addition to the cash, he also earned a seat into the $1,700 buy-in/$300,000 guarantee Deepest Stack next weekend.

Registration closed for the $250 Slater Scoops Quad Stack No-Limit Hold’em tournament, the first event on the 2026 Deep Stack Poker Series, with 381 entries, crushing the $50,000 guarantee and creating a prize pool worth $78,105.

The last 48 spots will be paid with $420 for a min-cash and $14,965 plus the DSPS trophy to the champ. The winner will also receive a seat in the $1,700 buy-in $300,000 guarantee Deepest Stack field.

The Slater Scoops gang made it through 12 levels with open registration but we closed the books when they returned from the second break. The clock shows an unofficial 381 entries in the field, but there are still some numbers to crunch to pull up our final tally.

We found another local legend (the entire state, to be fair) with Raminder Singh trying to add more hardware. He has an entire room full of poker trophies, including 16 titles from our major series. Singh earned his biggest career cash when he outlasted the 1,188-entry field to take the 2024 Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship for $486,353.
